Unfortunately, the summer book list does not include the prices. Last semester (winter) and the semester before that (fall) had the prices, so they should be up when the fall book lists are published. Who knows when that will be, though!!

When I am at school on Tuesday, I'll run by the bookstore and check it out and post the price here, if someone doesn't beat me to it. I need to check out all the prices anyway for myself so when I am shopping online, I can compare prices. The last few semesters I haven't purchased any textbooks from the book store. Costs too much extra money! I order everything online.

Hmmmm....where do you find that? I only know how to check the book list and it wasn't there. My bad.

Hey,

Does anyone know somewhere inexpensive where I can go and have the physical and titers done. I have health insurance but my doctor's office told me that insurance does not cover school physicals and they want to charge me 300.00 for all the bloodwork and physical which I think is ridiculous. Any help will be appreciated as I need to take care of this asap.

Tracie-

What part of the county do you live? If you live up north, you can go to the Walmart on Sample/441 area. They have a walk in clinic and its $35 for the physical. I had my varicella titer there, but at the time they were owned by Broward Health, and it was $50. They seem to have the same prices there now, but I just asked them about the physicals the other day when I was there.

Sorry for the late response but I just read everyone's answer to my drug test question and the lady at Quest didnt give me the Donor Copy....I asked her and she said that i dont get a copy (She was soo rude and had an attitude) that all i get is that strip which is my receipt. I found it weird cause i shouldve gotten that copy, but everytime i talked to her she was in another world.

i just dont want the campus to tell me that i should have the Donor copy to turn in with the rest of my paper work. :uhoh21::uhoh21:

don't worry! follow-up with bc to ensure they receive your results. if for some reason they don't, then, you'll do it over. however, by the time i get around to handing the drug screening form in, they already have the results.

i only used the following during my first semester:

process i

the modules (a packet in the bookstore) - i answered the objectives to study for the test.

fundamentals book - must have, will use for process i & ii. don't buy the fundamentals study guide. it doesn't have any critical thinking questions, just fill in the blank low level questions.

skills book - must have, will use for process i, ii, gi/gu, ortho/neuro, cardio

jarvis physical assessment pocket companion - will use the entire program, great to learn how to appropriately assess.

cox clinical care plan book - will use to write careplans. used once at end of process one and then, used

in every class throughout program.

process ii

lab kit - overpriced with outdated equipment, but mandatory

davis drug guide - either the book or an electronic program on palm pilot or phone

fluid & electrolyte made easy - a great supplement to understand f & e

plus all of the books from process i

pharm

lilley study guide

packet

you don't need the pharm book.

some students use the fundamental success and/or test success books. however, i didn't use any of those type of supplements.
