Once you're at a campus, you stay at that campus. But I think Central has 2 pharm professors, so you can pick Dr. K. At north, I think its just Dr. K. At south, I have no idea. However, I think you're pretty much stuck with who you have to take for lectures because I think there's usually just one person who teaches process, one person who teaches GI/GU, etc....

You can turn your application in either North or Central (South campus doesn't take apps). You don't pick the campus you want to go to until you register for your first nursing class, which happens after you are accepted. You attend an orientation and there they will tell you when you can register. North campus has the most amount of seats, so south and central fill up fast. There is a slight possibility if the seats were filled when you went to register and HAD to go to another campus that you might be able to change after the first semester, but you definitely cannot bounce around semester to semester. You have to get approval to switch, and it would be a one time thing.

what certifications do you have? hun is nutrition, right? what is hlp

hun is nutrition and hlp is health wellness.. i asked cuz. sheridan exempt me from there core...so, listen, in order for me to get accepted, do i need the core course. cuz if thats the case i need health core and chemistry before may!!!!

Well, it doesn't hurt to ask. If you get to attend one of the pre-nursing sessions, that would be the best place to ask.

I will be attending North campus.

If you want to save money, you can take CORE at Sheridan Votech- you said that you live in Miramar so you are not far from Sheridan blvd- it is cheaper and most of it can be done online except for theCPR part and about 2 or 3 meetings that are required at Central. It also includes the HIV cert and Domestic Violence ceus.

The Pharm teacher at south is a woman and she is a doctor. I forgot her name. Dr K is at North and I believe also Central. Sunnyray is right, once you pick your campus, you're pretty much stuck. You can't take classes at different campuses. After you are accepted, you will attend orientation and they will go over all of that.

The main book for Process 1 is Potter and Perry. I believe that they are currently using the 7th edition. Depending on what campus you attend, the books may be a tad different but they all use Potter and Perry. I know that they sell the math book at South but i am not sure if they use the same one at the other campuses.

1 book that I reccommend is Math for Nurses by Mary Jo Boyer - it is a small book that you can carry in your purse and it spends the first half of the book reviewing basic math i.e fractions, decimals, metric system, how to convert from fractions to percentages and vice versa, from decimals to percents and vice versa, how to multiply, divide, add, submtract franctions, etc. Then it goes into dosage calculations using dimentional analysis, ration proportion etc, review of roman numerals, pictures, abbreviations ie. sub q, IV, IM etc

I got it on line for $5.50 from www.biblio.com or you can check half.com.

I wouln't sweat this too much. There are lots of threads on here about Broward Communit College/Broward college. Just do a search. I think that the program is intense at all of the campuses. Just concentrate on doing your chem with lab and micro with lab before the cutoff date. you will have time to do the CORE series. If you haven't fulfilled the requirement for Ethics or Psych, I strongly reccommend either as I know that they are requirements for most BSN programs in FL and the Pschy will help you when you get to the Psych component of the program.

Good luck

Did anyone receive anything yet? Hopefully, we hear something by today so I can start preparing myself, such as, getting into that math class that starts in July :D :yeah:

I believe entry to the program details will be changing next term.

Do not postpone starting the program. The delayed entry to the program is going to be updated.

You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!

This will not be confirmed by BC nursing admin staff yet but it I believe it will be announced most likely in October.

Too many people postponing enter to program.

The new policy will be if you been accepted start now or loss your place.

My friend just called.....said her friend just got her acceptance, but that she still hasn't heard anything. My friend turned her app in at North, but her friend turned it in at Central. I turned mine in at North, too and still nothing. But at least it looks like its starting.......

Oh, I just thought of something.....her friend said her status on her Limited Access Application Status page was changed to "Accepted" but I don't know if she got her letter yet.
