Hello everyone,
Congrats on making it this far! I am also planning to apply for the Brookhaven Nursing program Spring 2019. I was planning on attending El Centro but I have heard they they are currently on probation and I do not think they will be reopening the program for Spring 2019. I had some questions regarding the application. Do we need to have our immunizations written on the separate immunization form they provided on the website and also do your CPR need to be completed and submitted before you get accepted?
Hi. If you signed up through econnect, then you don't need to call and schedule with someone.
Here are the instructions for signing up:
Go to eConnect Menu
Select: Continuing Education Workforce Training Student Menu
Select: Register for CE/WT Classes and Workshops
Select or enter the following:
Term: The term you are wanting to attend
Campus: BHC
Course: RNSG-1008-21000
Press SUBMIT
Select the DOSAGE CALCULATIONS workshop section you desire.
Press SUBMIT
Enter the information and follow the steps listed on the screen to complete your registration and submit your credit card payment.
When you log into your blackboard(ecampus), you should see the class now. You study on your own time and take the test on the following dates. Bring a calculator. You have 2 more chances to take the exam if you sign up for this course. Since you are applying for 2019 Fall semester, you will have the opportunity to register for the fall workshop as well.
The dates to take the exam are July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15 in Bldg. X, Room X1091 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Hi there.
Yes, you will have to include the separate immunizations form when you turn in your application. You will need to have all immunizations completed and signed by Brookhaven nurse, Ms. Mildred Kelly RN in Building S, Room S072. The CPR isn't required until after you get accepted, but it wouldn't hurt to get it done in the meantime. :)
Hey all, best of luck to everyone. I am a new student and new to the Dallas area. I recently graduated from the university of arkansas with a BS in Biology and am taking A&P 1&2 and Psych this semester to apply in the Spring for Fall 19. I have a question, can anyone help me out as far as the critical thinking test is concerned? I am hoping to complete it and the dosage calculations before the Fall term starts. I have no idea where to go to register for, and take the critical thinking exam.
Thanks!
Welcome. To Texas!
In order to apply for the nursing program you have to apply or admission at any dcccd College. Once you have had that completed you can register for classes and also be able to take the required testing at their testing facility. The critical thinking exam is given only in September at Brookhaven College. If you go on Brookhaven website it tells you how to register for it. For the dosage and calculation class you have to register through econnect. Once you have purchase the class it would appear on your Blackboard account. Then you will have to study the material and register for one of the dates that they offered the test. In order to access blackboard hyou have to register to one of the dcccd colleges. If you need any more information it is best to go on the Brookhaven College website and it informs you of all the steps in regards to admission, the nursing program, and the required material for the nursing program. Hope this helps

Oh awesome!!
I am just doing the practice exams, I have a white board and I solve it and check my answer and then circle it if I got it wrong so I can come back to try it again!
