This forum is for anyone applying to the nursing program at Brookhaven College for the spring 2016 semester.
I will be applying for the spring semester and would like to meets others who are applying as well.
Hello all,I was just wondering if accepted, how far after the acceptance date does success camp usually occur? For example if Nov.17 are acceptance dates and Nov.25 were deadline dates. How far after could Success camp be?
Hi!
I believe reading from the other threads that Success camp should be in January!
I think the week or couple of days before classes actually start?
If I'm wrong, somebody correct me please!
Does anyone know when the drug test/criminal background checks are going to be? I'm planning to leave the country for about a month after interviews, and didn't want to miss it obviously. I know there are certain requirements that needs to be done before success camp (immunizations, physical exam, CPR certification, etc) and I know they're really strict about those requirements. It would just suck to get accepted but not be able to attend because one of the requirements were missing.
Of course I should be worried about this after getting accepted, but just wanted to think ahead since I'm planning to leave the country! :)
If accepted, would we have to wait until success camp (mid- Jan) to know our schedule for the semester???The hospital I work at does the schedules a month in advance so I would like to have SOME idea for them, but have a feeling that might not be possible....
To be honest with you there is absolutely no way you will be able to plan your schedules a month in advance from what I'm ready on the current first semesters Facebook group. Things change weekly and sometimes more often than that. It's pretty disorganized but they say you get used to expecting the unexpected change.

Ugh, thank you. I was kinda thinking it might be that way.

Going off previous threads it sounds like once accepted they email us tons of info on things to be done before success camp. However, look over the Brookhaven website because it sounds like certain things have more time constraints than others, for example immunizations:
"The Brookhaven College Nursing Program requires the following immunizations
to be completed six (6) weeks before success camp. If
all immunizations are not completed prior to success camp, the student will be
administratively dropped from the Brookhaven College Nursing Program."
