Brookhaven Nursing Program

Published

Hello everyone!! I have been doing my support courses for the last year and a half and I'm going to apply for the nursing program at Brookhaven this month. Though I'm not really stressing about it I am a little worried. This is my 3rd attempt at college and the first 2 times I did horrible!! Since I made the choice to go to nursing school in Summer of 2009, I've brought my GPA up from 1.76 to 3.0. And, all my grades in my support classes have been A's and B's except 1, Nursing Pathophysiology. I made a C in that class and it would have been a B if I had not made one mistake at the end of the course. So, my question is does anyone think that C in that class will hinder me much? If anyone can offer any insight it would be great. Thanks!!

I have heard that 60 students is what Brookhaven will take for Fall 2011, although the Dean said 50 at the information session. Fortylove in my opinion you and anybody with over 32 points will get in with ease.(I wish I had that score)...You just never know, it will be interesting to see where the numbers fall this admission cycle.

At the info session the dean said the lowest for spring 2011 was 31.something, not 27. I don't think people with 27 have gotten in for the last few years. Maybe they will go back to interviews eventually.

I think they meant they accepted those applications, like they didn't bother taking your application if you had any less than 27 points, but no one with less than 31 point something actually got in to the program.

Thanks for the clarification Ashlee067....that is what I was trying to say! They did not move any applications on for consideration into the program with less than 27 points. We will all just have to wait and see. Like Vinny stated, you just never know. Happy Monday morning everyone

Gotcha! I guess I read that wrong.

my official points are 31.96 :/ i dont know how to feel! im super nervous, i hope its enough!

This waiting is stressful. I have 30 points. If I would have kept my old HESI score, I would have had 31.67. I don't know if 30 is competitive enough for Brookhaven.

Hello! i Hope each and everyone of you find out soon and get accepted!!! Congrats on all the hard work u all have done. I am just getting started. I start in Fall. Studying now for the math part of the accuplacer.. Is there any suggestions yall would make about all the classes I have to take? Like take this now or dont take this til last, any certain teacher? Anything u think i should know? LOL.. Any info will be helpful, this will be my 1st time attending college. I plan on taking most classes online but i no better than math and science LOL..

Thank u

And GOOD LUCK Everyone!!! Ill be waiting on yall to post u were accepted her :)

FYI - Mountain View is taking students for the fall. Applications are due in July I believe. Its their first class. So it maybe easier to gain admissions there.

I thought mountain view discontinued their program in december?

Specializes in Cardiac Critical Care.

They did, but they did it to start their own program separate from Brookhaven's.

Oh ok I didnt know that. Im closer to mountainview..i enrolled at broolhaven last week

Can I enroll at mv still? Im just starting my pre reqs
