Brookhaven Nursing Program 2012 Class

Published

Hello everyone, I would like to know who's applying to Brookhaven this fall for their Spring 2012 class, if so how many with how many points? I will be taking my last support course this summer, which is my elective (PHIL 1304). I am so excited, upon completion of this course I will have 32.39 points. I can't tell how nervous I am, I hope this is enough. Any advice from previous or current nursing program is welcomed.

Sounds good. I think we'll get accepted into Brookhaven's program.

Hi Kasey, I can't think of anything in specific. I don't think we have anything to worry about, although we'll be nervous, I believe the outcome will be positive. I'm super excited, rather I get accepted or not determines everything I do from this point forward, from saving to the classes I take. I'm leaning more toward the accepted side. Does anyone have an alternate plan of action after getting that wonderful "Congratulations" email? I intend on celebrating and taking a much needed breath of relief.

IF I get that congratulatory email, Mia, I'm going to have my hubby take me out to a nice dinner and have one heck of a Margarita!!! I'm just wondering when we'll have our drug test & , physical...we are going to be going out of town to Canada, so I do not want to be away for anything that is last minute! Do you think they'll let us know all of this stuff ahead of time? I really do not want to miss visiting family and friend over the winter break.

From the website, it looks like drug tests & background checks are the week before success camp. I'm thinking we'll get in too :) but I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, just in case I get a less than fortunate email on the 11th. If I do get the good email... I'll probably go out that night and celebrate, then sleep the rest of the weekend :) the stress of this has me running on empty!

SugarMag, you're going to get in...I'm certain of it!! You have like 34 points and if you break it down with someone who has 31, you need to get 2 points from the interview to tie them. you're going to be fine! :) Thanks for the info on background checks & drug screens: when is success camp? a week before classes start?? I may not be able to go to Canada after all...my father-in-law had a quad bypass and I really need to get up there for the winter break.

Why am I doing this? I haven't even been accepted yet..I'll worry about all this when the time comes!!

Kasey, I can definitely agree with you on the margarita. I'm just putting my best foot forward on Tuesday. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I recall, I think Brookhaven said we can randomly choose 2 questions to answer and we will be in groups of 5. Did anyone else hear this?

Yup, that's what I was told too. Makes me very nervous that they'll be complicated critical thinking questions, and not just questions like "Do you have adequate transportation?" that would see if we're committed and prepared...

And thank you for the encouragement!! :)

Right, I can totally agree with you. What if they ask us something that really make us think (hard). I hope I choose two good questions, and I'm glad these group interviews are not huge because I was thinking a group > 5.

What types of critical thinking questions are they going to ask? will they be medical related scenarios? Ms B emailed and said there would be 2 questions a piece, but I was under the impression that they were pretty standardized interview questions?? Let me know if ya'll find anything more out or if you have any info to pass along...PM me. Good night, Ladies!!!!

I also applied and will be interviewing on Tuesday at 3. I have 34 points as well. Now to shop for interview-appropriate clothing. :uhoh21:

I have no idea what kind of critical thinking questions we will be asked or even if we will be asked any. I hope I choose two basic questions to answer. From the looks of it, no one scheduled their interview before me on Tuesday.
