Brookhaven/Mountain View Fall 2009

Published

Is there anyone else applying for this fall. I believe the program is going to be accepting about 80 students since Mountain View is accepting a class this Fall. I'm not sure how many points I will have yet, because I'm going to retake my HESI on Feb. 12th. So we'll see. Yet, this is my first time applying and I'm taking my Patho, Pharm, Dosage and End of Life as we speak. So EVERYTHING is riding on my HESI. Good luck to everyone! Let's hope and pray everyone on Allnurses gets in! ;)

Sorry DallasMonty, I didn't get a notice email from allnurses for reply to my message, usually I get a notice. And I haven't check this post in a while so I wasn't aware of your reply. I already ordered the book online, I'm so sorry, I shouldn've double check this posting. The instructor is Peggy Mason, did you have her? what is the hardest thing about this course to you?

I have recieved my e-mail last month and have been accepted in to the mountain view nursing program fall 2009. They said that another e-mail will be sent this month reguarding an orientation, this month is almost over and nothing has been recieved yet did anyone recieve the second e-mail? I looked up the program on the brookhaven website and it said something about a "success camp" I am assuming that that is the orientation. Does anyone know what the next step will be?

Dmatausmc-

Welcome to the club. I haven't heard anything. I swung by the nursing office on 5/11 to ask questions but nothing had been decided. No dates for success camp or book lists yet.

I was told by Ann last month that Success Camp is usually given two weeks before schools starts. I guess this gives people time to finish up any loose ends they may have before starting the program.

Congratulations guys on getting into Brookhaven/Mountain View Fall 2009. I was excepted to El Centro Rn for Fall 2009, we will be having our orientation on June16th. Have you guys done the criminal background checks yet? I am wondering if we will do those after orientation or when?

Congrats Mom 35. We haven't done anything yet so far. Do you know what it is you'll be doing during the orientation on June 16th?

Well, I know that we are going to try on scrubs to see what size we need. Apparently some store is contracted to make them for us. I am assuming we will be covering costs and well, I do not really know!! The acceptance packet didnt even really give enough information. But the letter did say that it will be an all-day event so we must be doing lots of stuff. I will give details after the 16th!!!

Congrats Mustang and Mom! At least you guys are hearing something. Other than the acceptance email, we haven't heard a thing!

I talked to the councelor and she said that orientation/ success camp will be Aug. 12-13 8:00A.M. and that they are trying to finish this semester. As soon as this semester is over they will send the E-mail with more details.

hi everyone! i wanted to know if anyone had heard anything new about mt. view? i called down there after we got the reserve your spot for success camp letters and got some info i thought i share just in case anyone was curious like me...we will be in white scrubs that we will have to have embroider with brookhaven's logo, and cpr has to be renewed yearly for their program, clinicals will either be mon/tues or thurs/fri from 6:30am to 3:00. then we will have 2 classes one will be in groups of 10 and the other will be all 40 of us first semester students. if anyone knows anything else be sure to post it!

i look forward to meeting everyone! i think it would be fun to get a group together and meet up for drinks or something so we can get to know a few people before we start the program. if anyone is interested let me know!

I am game for getting together. What is a good time and location for everyone? If anyone is on Facebook, have started a Mountain View School of Nursing group. Just search for it. Lets get something planned!
