Hey everyone! I decided to start this forum because I am a current transferring Nursing student moving from AR to TX. I am in need of all the tea on the program and faculty. Please feel free to leave comments! I’m just trying to get all of my ducks in a row now. I hope to meet someone of you all along this journey!

Congrats on your points! I won't know points until probably next month. I am still trying to pay off my Texas Tech balance then I can get the transcript from there. Hopefully, I can go and get my points and find out exactly how many I have. I'm hoping to have at least 31.

Did you take the Texas Tech courses? I wish i had known about them before, guess its too late for me to pad my points by taking them. If you did how difficult were they? and what format were the exams (Papers due vs Tests?)
thanks!

Yes I have taken one class-Issues and Trends in Nursing. It was so easy...easier than my cc classes. I just hate I had to pay out for it but its worth it.
Hi All!
I am debating on apply for fall 2020 or spring 2021. My prereqs are bad and I think have me right under the 3.0 GPA requirement, thanks to chem! ugh! I am going to have my transcript evaluated before I make this decision fully and if it's on track then I may apply for fall. If not I will have to retake chem and other supporting classes and try again. So many options I guess. Trying to determine which one is best. I still need to take the HESI and dosage cal class (plan on doing it the 18th) and double-check my vaccines. I don't even know where to start with that, I guess inquire with my PCP? I don't currently have health insurance because I am unemployed. Any tips/advice for me?

ended up with 36.17 as of now and 38.17 if i land the job i am interviewing for soon. should be enough points for an interview, i hope, this has been a long process with all the shots, titers, classes, and HESI lol
Hoping the dosage calculation goes smooth on the 18th, anybody else taking it that day??
cheers everyone ?
Did you do your evaluation over email/internet? or did you go in person? Was it a regular advisor or like a nursing advisor specifically? Did you have to make an appointment?

Best place to go for vaccines is Dallas county. Lines are usually pretty short and you sign an affadavit and pay $10 for your shots.

Your situation is similar to mine with the 3.0 requirement. I needed to retake Chem and AP 1 and gets B's in those classes in order to get a 3.0. I missed out on applying spring 2020 because of this but I got the grades now and i can officially apply.

Definitely check with your PCP first...some of the vaccines take a bit of time (Hep B mainly), I took the HESI at a Prometric testing center, u can basically pick your date and time..on top of that you have to provide positive titers for MMR, varicella and Hep B
