Brookhaven College Spring 2017

Published

I am hoping to be part of the Brookhaven College Spring 2017 Nursing Class and I want to start a new thread where other potential students can communicate with one another. I am almost done with my pre-requisites. Currently I am working on getting Chemistry and Ethics out of the way. I plan on taking nursing pathophysiology this summer if it is offered.

Any one have any suggestions on how to prepare for the HESI A2? I am also interested in any advice that can help me with my dosage class. I am very nervous about the dosage course since the test must be passed with a 90%. Good luck everyone!

I'm making a FB page for the Spring 2017 Program! I've been a silent participant on the Fall 2016 group and it has been instrumental! I will invite a few current students, including Kendra, so they can give us advice. I will post the link as soon as it's up!

Here is the link to the FB page! Please join! :)

Hi! Please joined our group on FB if you haven't yet. You may find someone there from the interview:)

Congrats to everyone that got in for the spring! Just finishing up my first semester and thought I'd check to see what kind of fun was going on over here. Get ready for a ride! It'll fly right by!

Hi everyone! Congrats to all of you for making the cut last fall! I am going to be applying in the Spring of 2018 and I just wanted to see if any of you had any recommendations for admission points, application process, dos and don'ts, HESI and CT exam. Thank you in advance! Good luck in your first semester!

Hey there, current 4th semester here. I suggest getting the HESI a2 study guide, it teaches you all there is to know for the HESI. I believe the fall applicants were the first to take the critical thinking exam but the way I understood it, the questions are looking at the way you think so there's no technical right or wrong answer, but I didn't take it so I could be wrong. I also suggest starting a page like this because it helps you all get to know one-another and help and encourage each other through the process. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!!

Hello!!

Definitely take Kendra's advice on purchasing the Hesi A2 book and creating a thread like this one as it will be very helpful while preparing for admission. Typically current students will go out to this site to see if they can offer any advice to new candidates. Kendra, is very knowledgeable and helpful!!

I'm starting my 1st semester in a couple of weeks and was part of the first group to take the CT. The exam is worth 15 points so you'll want to try your best even though failing won't necessarily disqualify you. I will say that it is a little hard to study for the exam as it is made up of clinical scenario questions that test your judgment. Questions like "you overheard a coworker discussing patient information, what would you do?" You'll also have questions that are more in the lines of going through your chain of command.

I would also advise to take as many as the supporting courses you can as it will not only increase your points but it will also reduce the amount of courses you take during the program.

Best of luck!
