Brookhaven ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everybody! I will FINALLY be applying for Brookhaven for the Spring 2020 entrance. I have watched previous forums to see what to expect and I'm excited but nervous. Are there any students here enrolled in the concurrent enrollment through Brookhaven and Texas Tech? I hope to hear more from you guys as we go through this process!

No I don't have the book. I used the software for the pharmacology class because it showed videos on how to do the dosage problems but I think I still have my software and if I can pull it up then I can email it to you.

Yayyyyy! Thank you!

Also some of the questions on the review were the same as the questions on the test.

Hey Everyone! I was just for informed by one of my classmates that Brookhaven has a lengthy waiting list. So even if we apply and get accepted we may have to wait 1-2 semesters to start. Has anyone else heard of this?

This is interesting...Any confirmation from anyone in the nurse administrative office? I was intending to call them today.

Hello shauntil. I could not locate the software for pharmacology. But like I said the reviews and formula.chart that is provided for the class should help you. You will do great on the test.

Thank you for looking for me! Where are the reviews and formula chart located in the class? I can't find it. Maybe I'm just looking in a different area.

That would be a good question for me to ask tomorrow so we can have clarification on that. Do we get points for the TT classes or just consideration for having it complete? Or is the 11 pts an error? Ill email them tomorrow. Thanks for pointing that out

You get points for TT classes... it's exactly like support courses 1-3 points.. they switched it up this time around.. I think they realize the quality of people who were getting priority admission isn't really what they were wanting so they're now having interviews with everybody now.

Is it required to sign up for the dosage class in order to take the exam?

Yes. It's considered continuing education. The class is the exam. You sign up for the class, the class meets 3 times per testing period, once a month. You go to class, 10am-11am is the class/reviewing/ask any questions about the practice exam, 11am-3pm is the exam.

Thanks for this information!

Does anyone know if we are allowed to take the HEP A/B combination vaccine?

Good question! I'd notify (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) about that one because I've seen that vaccine and I'm not sure if it qualifies to take care of both or you have to get the vaccines separately.
