Brookhaven ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hello everybody! I will FINALLY be applying for Brookhaven for the Spring 2020 entrance. I have watched previous forums to see what to expect and I'm excited but nervous. Are there any students here enrolled in the concurrent enrollment through Brookhaven and Texas Tech? I hope to hear more from you guys as we go through this process!

Congratulations! My interview is scheduled from 7-8:30!

Mine October 24 2pm

Specializes in CVICU, ED.

Are the interviews group interviews from the start to finish time or are they individual interviews split between the two times?

I got mines too! 9:15-10:45. ??? 29.03pts

I’m not sure but somewhere in there we also have a writing sample to do

When you guys get accepted, could you update this forum with what the cutoff is (if you're able to obtain this information). I think it would greatly help myself and others who will be applying for future entrances to Brookhaven.

I got my interview email as well! 10/24 @11 am

Congrats to everyone who got an interview! Now to enjoy our weekend!

I hope they tell us in the 25th who got in!

How does Brookhaven's nursing program compare to Northlake/El Centro?

Specializes in CVICU, ED.

I have 27.89 points so far (96% HESI, 99% DCW exam, ~3.0 pre-req GPA, 3 points for 1 support course, and 2 points for medical experience) and got an interview invite. I think the cut-off was somewhere in the 27 range, so I was surprised I got an invite.

My friend, who applied with about the same amount of points as me, also got an interview invite but she declined the interview with Brookhaven as she has already been accepted elsewhere... So, fortunately, there's a maximum of 49 people interviewing for the 40 spots.

Hopefully that eases everyone's mind just a tiny bit.

I know one of the differences from the two is that brookhaven's program is 16 months and Northlake/el centros is 2 years. I also know that a year ago the Northlake/ el centros program was on probation for I believe low scores. Thats really all I can tell you but I'm sure someone else knows more.

I don't know how they compare, but Mountain View also has a 16 month option as well. BH, MV, and EC/NL all have different prereqs though. I feel your frustration, and I'm starting to look elsewhere myself. After this semester I will finally have 44 credit hours so I will be eligible to apply for the TT classes to boost my score
