Hello everybody! I will FINALLY be applying for Brookhaven for the Spring 2020 entrance. I have watched previous forums to see what to expect and I'm excited but nervous. Are there any students here enrolled in the concurrent enrollment through Brookhaven and Texas Tech? I hope to hear more from you guys as we go through this process!

my fall semester I’m taking Huma 1315 arts 1301 so I can get a better grade in that class,bio 2401 psyc 2301 so I can get a better grade in that class also
So most of these classes you already taken before. You are just retaking to get better grades right? Well it looks like you have most of these done. But i am assuming based off your answers, you will be applying for Brookhaven's Fall 2019 entrance as you are still taking classes, you need your hesi and your dosage calculations class completed as well.

You have to go to a proctored testing site that offers all portions. Texas am corpus christi offers it (you can take it at a proctored site here in Dallas). TCU offers it as well if you ask for the sections you need. Most of the ADN programs don’t offer it because they don’t require that part.

The El Centro Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 forums will have more information on how what those before you did in order to get ready to apply. The deadline for Spring 2020 for ECC/NLC is July 15. The deadline for Brookhaven is the end of September. However, the dosage calculations class is something you’ll need (for Brookhaven) as you’ll be doing calculations for medications in the nursing program. If you aren’t already in that class this semester (last day to sign up is sometime in July), you will have to apply for Fall 2020.
I need suggestions. To apply on time, I need these classes :
Patho, pharm, Chem, 2 Texas Tech courses and that's it.
I also want to apply to Mountain Vew college and need only patho, pharm, and algebra. I don't see myself finishing the requirements for Brookhaven in time, but I do for mountain view.
I really don't know how to pick my classes to be able to apply for Fall 2020.
I was thinking chemistry, patho, then maybe algebra for fall semester. Then in spring 2020, take pharm, and the 2 Texas Tech courses. Has anybody taken a math and two science classes together? Will patho, Chem, and algebra be too much together?
Thanks.
Well it looks like I won't be able to apply for BHC or any other nursing program for that matter until Fall 2020. I've had a lot going on in my life (moving out of my apartment during a lease, husband has abandoned me and my kids, failed a class. I'm trying to hold up (in front of my kids, I look strong) but when I go to sleep I just cry and hope that things will change. Part of this is my fault ( I won't lie) but you don't just walk out when things get hard...So I won't be doing anything for nursing until sometime next year. I'm just going to try and complete this other TT class and AP 1 and then figure out what my next move will be from there. Sincerely, a very sad person...

I would at least apply to MVC and if you don't get in you know you'll have enough time to try it next year. Taking Chem, algebra and patho is pretty rough. Your spring schedule is probably okay. The TT classes are pretty easy just do the work. That Fall schedule however, i'm not sure. That's a lot going on right there. I would do the chem because that's one of your main pre-reqs and patho gets you points for bhc whereas algebra gets you the points for mvc so i get it. Just my input :)

I am really sorry to hear you are going through this. I can only imagine how difficult this has been for you and your kids. May I ask what happened, or why did you say it was your fault? You are right, when things do get tough, you don't walk out. The blessing in disguise is that if you decide to wait, you will have completed all the necessary classes required and then some, with a better grade in a&p. It is going to be rough in the beginning, but it's def. okay to cry. We have minor setbacks and sometimes we ask why, but when one door closes another is opening. Very cliché, but I do believe everything we go through is to teach us something and build our character. This is very sad because I don't like hearing others go through hardship, because I know how it feels. I especially hate hearing you go through it because I swear I think highly of you, because I know you've worked so hard. I barely know you, but just your demeanor online and how helpful you've been, and your hard work. I am confident that you will come back with the same dedication and get into the nursing program. Just right now, you need time to gather yourself emotionally and mentally, and tend to your family. Everything will be okay. If you still have my email, feel free to contact me. I'm married too and we might share similar views on things and might can share advice.

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate it. I will wait to take algebra some other time, because I want to do good in it. Hope you're feeling okay :}
