Does anyone know the GPA cutoff to enter the clinical for each program, and If obtaining a clinical seat is easier in a LPN program compared to RN.

Hey there
I say pretty much the same now
I went to LAGCC for LPN they really do have a good program that when I went for my BS RN, I was not struggling much. Do try to apply as long as you have a 3.0 gpa because you never know.....
The way you get in, really depends on the pool of students gpa.
Good Luck!

Im at LACGG right now...hoping to be accepted into the 2010 LPN program...after speaking with the folks in the nursing dept ... they're advising LPN candidates have at least a 3.2. They will be admitting 100-120 students for the fall progra - dont' know why it's not a fixed # - that's driving me crazy - what if im # 101? anyway. They RN program at LAGCC is asking 3.8 and better. After attending all the nursing workshops and talking to the nursing professors, it's obvious that since LAGCC has changed their LPN program from 3 semesters to 2 semesters, it has become as competitive, if not perhaps a bit more competitive as the RN program...entering in September know that if all goes well you'll be an LPN in less than a year is pretty exciting and a little hard to pass up. I am waiting for my letter ... said to be mailed out on July 7th. Cross your fingers for me...my gpa now is a 4.0 but with the class im taking now it's going to drop to about a 3.4. Good luck in which ever school and program u choose.

I'm nervous myself.. I will have to go pick up the letter in the lobby JUly 7th. I don't think they'll be mailing it out. My gpa is 3.475.. I"m not sure about all this. I"m nervous!! i hope that I can get in. Did the department tell you that 3.2 is the minimum gpa? My gpa really dropped after A&P... I'm nervous and worried!!! I hope you and I can get in...

Candidacy for lagcc? Or bcc? I applied already for lagcc fall 2012 I have a 3.6 I hope I get in.
Hey guys,
I know you're wondering about the cut off for the Lagcc program. During the time i got in which was 2010 the cut off to get into the LPN program was 3.60 but i'm not too sure about 2011. I didn't ask anyone. I wish you guys all the luck!
Didn't you say your gpa was 3.475 when you applied and you got in for 2010? So how can the cut off had been 3.6? Are you talking about your overall gpa or key course gpa? For Lpn they only look at the key course gpa.
Hi MzThang- Are you waiting to hear in july for LPN? I am waiting to hear too.
I'm applying to LPN at LAGCC. I made a mistake and took SCB 203 in the winter
and just feel like I could have done much better... oh well. Best of luck to you!

Hello, I am a lpn candidate for lagcc scheduled to pick up my decision letter on July 16th. I wanted to know is it the key course gpa or overall gpa that gets you in? My key course gpa is 3.5 but overall is lower. Thanks in advance! If you have any advice and/or tips, I welcome it!
Hey I just graduated from the lpn this week. It's the key course they look at for lpn. For RN it's both.
