I wanted to know of anyone looking into the Bristol Community College nursing program or who is currently in it or was in it.
I am still taking the competitive pre-req courses right now to be able to apply to the Fall 2011 nursing program for Bristol Community College in Massachusetts. I currently have a 4.0 GPA.
After this semester, I just need to take A&P II (summer class) and Microbiology (Fall class). After that, all of the courses I need for the nursing program are complete except for the actual nursing classes.
If I get accepted into the BCC program for the Fall 2011 class, will I only be able to take 1 nursing class/semester so it's an additional two years from Fall 2011?
Check online right now and see if your major changed. Mine has changed on my transcript and in Degree Works to "Nursing".
I checked my degree works and it said Nursing too! Not sure what this means. I had never been on that site before. It did say that I didn't have a class which I already took and I verified that Admissions had recieved that transcript..Now I am nervous..What if they didn't and I get denied...:**(

I'm hoping that it's a great sign. I'm not sure about my transcript because I never really checked that, but I know for SURE that Degree Works did change my major because I was just on it 2 weeks ago. I don't think DW really means anything, but it shows that they definitely changed our majors. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is a sign of our letters to come. My mailman was already here this morning and no letter yet. UGH. The wait is killing me!!!

What did yours say before they changed it? where does It say nursing?? Mine saids nursing too..I am trying not to get my hopes up high..Is this your first attempt applying?

Yes, this is the first time I've ever applied. I left my career last June to follow through with Nursing. Degree Works used to say "Non Degree" or "Undeclared", something like that on the first page when you log in. Now, it says "Nursing" and shows all of the classes that I've met and/or still need. YAY!!!!!! Hopefully we'll be seeing each other in orientation soon!
I think the Degree Works section is a definite indication! It shows the classes needed to finish off the degree which means they added us to the program. I was told the letters were going out shortly, so they could still be in the process of choosing more people.

hello! I didn't read through ever single thread. I currently go to BCC and someone told me about the degreeworks. I check mine did not say nursing . However, it did say the last audit on my degree was 12/11/10. So nothing has changed since then. My friend checked his too. It says his was audited 2/24/11 and it hadn't changed. I also called admissions. They said it will be couple more weeks. They sometimes dont know what is going on though. And by the way I hate that they only look at pre req's and TEAS test. I have a lot of experience but they will never know that!
Goood News? I hope they just haven't gotten to me. I applied at massasoit, brockton hospital, RIC, and UMASS Dartmouth with a back up in the biology program. So frustrating waiting! I haven't heard from anywhere. I just want to know what I am going to be doing already. I know I will hear from Brockton March 15th. Massasoit isnt until almost May. My grades are pretty good too but it just doesn't seem to be enough. Have you heard from anywhere? And at least I have back ups.
