I wanted to know of anyone looking into the Bristol Community College nursing program or who is currently in it or was in it.
I am still taking the competitive pre-req courses right now to be able to apply to the Fall 2011 nursing program for Bristol Community College in Massachusetts. I currently have a 4.0 GPA.
After this semester, I just need to take A&P II (summer class) and Microbiology (Fall class). After that, all of the courses I need for the nursing program are complete except for the actual nursing classes.
If I get accepted into the BCC program for the Fall 2011 class, will I only be able to take 1 nursing class/semester so it's an additional two years from Fall 2011?
All White closed toe and back. No logos except if it is the one with the little heart on it. We have to get our uniform through Company Uniform store in Fall River. I think you can buy your shoes else where if you want but they aren't badly priced there.

I'm probably going to get a cheap-o watch from Target or Kohls. I'm sure it's going to get some *stuff* on it, so I want it to be cheap enough that I don't care about tossing it, lol. This site is great! I'd be walking in absolutely clueless if it weren't for you ladies!!!! Thank you for all of this info, I can't wait to meet all of you!

The great thing is that we have started a great support system with eachother (and school hasn't even started yet). I am looking forward to meeting all of you (and studying, supporting, stressing and crying with all of you too) LOL
How do you know what to buy? I am completely lost...I have no idea which shoes, nurse pack, stethoscopes or watches to buy?? HELP!!
You will have all that info in the packet we should be getting next week. I went to the Company Uniform STore and they said BCC prefers the littman but you can get what you want. They said make sure your watch has a second hand on it. You have to get 2 sage green tops 2 pairs of white pants white 3/4 length lab coat, patches, a pin, all white closed in shoes. They will help you with everything. T hey have it in the computer there. Give them a call or swing by they were nice.
I asked a few nurses which stethoscope was a decent one. I was/am clueless too. With the watch, I knew we needed one for taking pulse,etc and figured that it would be good to get a cheap one just in case anything happens to it. I can't wait to start shopping (even though my bank account disagrees lol) I am so nervous too, but definitely excited. It's going to go by so fast!
I can't wait to go shopping either I'm going to go with my mom since she is a nurse and knows about this stuff which should make picking stuff out easier... You girls are more than welcome to come with us when we go if you feel like you need some guidance but I'm sure the people working there know what they are talking about. I want fun cute scrubs!

I got accepted into an LPN program, but I'm still waiting for BCC for my first choice. They got my application in early Jan, but didn't process it until Feb11th... they tried to say I turned it in late. When I called they apologized that they dated it wrong. Unfortunately I am sure it's too late now to fix that mistake. So hopefully I'll be joining you ladies for my second year of nursing school for the LPN bridge program. I do not have high hopes of getting in after that mistake.
True- like the positive thinking. I think I will put my deposit in to the other school just in case... which is unfortunate because it's nonrefundable and quite large- of course!
