Hello,
I wanted to know of anyone looking into the Bristol Community College nursing program or who is currently in it or was in it.
I am still taking the competitive pre-req courses right now to be able to apply to the Fall 2011 nursing program for Bristol Community College in Massachusetts. I currently have a 4.0 GPA.
After this semester, I just need to take A&P II (summer class) and Microbiology (Fall class). After that, all of the courses I need for the nursing program are complete except for the actual nursing classes.
If I get accepted into the BCC program for the Fall 2011 class, will I only be able to take 1 nursing class/semester so it's an additional two years from Fall 2011?
Thanks for your input!
We will probably get some sort of welcome package after April 1st, which is the deadline to reply (I'm just guessing though).
Once we find out more info about what we should study ahead of time, like the math, we should arrange a get together a few weeks before the first day. We'll get a great head start!
I'm really anxious to know how many things we will need before starting class. I know it will be about 800-1000 dollars for books, a BP cuff, shoes, uniforms, stethoscope, CPR, and insurance. Does anyone know of anything else we need? I was also wondering if regular health insurance is enough? I read something about needing professional Liability Insurance throughout the program. Anybody know about what this insurance is?

I am a current student..you will need to purchase books, a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, uniforms, a gait belt, a watch with a sweep second hand, a nurse pack (which is a kit put together that you purchase in the school bookstore)... For your malpractice insurance its only like $12 a semester and it's automatically added to your tuition bill. You need proof of regular health insurance..you also need to be CPR certified through the American Heart Association and it HAS to be valid through the end of the program...meaning..if you are CPR certified already or go to the class anytime from now til the end of May it won't count, you'll have to do it again. So go to CPR class in June or July.
