Bristol Community College-Fall 2015?!

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

Hey aspiring nurses,

I haven't seen a forum for the BCC applicants for fall 2015 yet, so here we go!! Who's applying to BCC? It would be nice (& is my hope) to become a support team to cheer each other on! I'd like to hear where you are in your process and if you're also applying to other schools.

As for me, my application is in, I just need to do Micro. Any suggestions for Micro professors?

I'm very excited and I'm sure you are, as well. Can't wait to hear from you all!

--All support is welcome! Any BCC nursing affiliates, feel free to chime in, as well--

:)

Well said, that's my attitude!

I'm not sure of all the hospitals. They referenced Brockton Hospital, South Shore Hospital (Weymouth) and a hospital in Norwood. I believe they said most clinicals start at 8am sharp. While Brockton isn't bad, the other two are a little bit more difficult from where I live as there isn't a major highway that allows me to go from point a to point b. I don't know where BCC uses for clinicals, but I'm hoping they might be a little bit more direct for me. (Although, I'll do whatever needs to be done to graduate, regardless who accepts me!)

Since the application deadline was moved up this year does anyone know when they will start sending out letters? Last year I believe letters were mailed middle of March.

During the info session I went to they said it's still mid-March.

Ughh we still have 2 months to wait for an answer. I hope once the spring semester starts I will be so busy the time will fly by.

Southshore, are you taking any classes in the spring at BCC? I am taking A&P II and ENG102.

No classes at BCC, but I'm taking A&P II at Massasoit this spring semester. I agree, I don't think I could handle the wait if I wasn't busy.

I've applied but don't think I have much of a chance since I only have a gpa of 3.45:/ I just finished my associates in science at BCC and have all core classes plus As/Bs in all sciences so maybe that will help. Not counting on it though :/ I've applied to 3 other schools but this is my top one. Anyone else have a lower gpa? Or know someone who did and got in? I need some positivity!!

Good luck everyone!!

AmandaJoy,

My Cumulative GPA is about the same 3.4. What are your points? I have the maximum amount points since I have all As on the pre-reqs, but my cumulative GPA is what stresses me, it is from previous college many years ago.

What other schools did you apply to?

Here is the points breakdown from AspiringRN:

The points system is as followed:

6 or 5 points for an A+ or A —I'm almost sure they use 6, but not 100% which they use, because now an A+ & an A= the same weight!

4 pts= A-

3 pts= B+

2 pts= B

1 pt= B-

The classes are:

High school Chemistry with a lab or CHM 090

HS Algebra or higher

Anatomy and Physiology I

English Composition I or II

General Psychology

Total possible points= 30

I have As in all of those classes besides college Chem..I got a B+

I also applied to Quincy college, Laboure and New England tech. New England tech is my LAST resort. Really hoping for BCC or Quincy especially because those two are a lot cheaper! Have you applied any where else?

Amandajoy, I think we have a good chance with high points and decent GPA. It all depends what all the other applicants have for GPAs and what BCC puts more weight on.

I only applied to BCC. I was going to apply to Massasoit but after information session I changed my mind.

Here's to hoping!

TC_2014, What made you change your mind from submitting an application to Massasoit?
