Bristol Community College (BCC) Nursing 2021

Published

Hi all,

I wanted to create this thread for students applying to BCC's program for Fall 2021. How are things going for everyone in the current climate? Please feel free to share your thoughts, experiences, etc. Former/current students, do you have any insight to share?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I don't think I have a book advance yet. My bill just came out, so I'm going to pay the 2k from my scholarship & then hopefully they put the books out so I can purchase once the advance comes in

That’s exactly what I did

How are we doing?

Hi hope all is well?  I’m doing okay! Getting ready to start this program in September. Started reviewing some of the med math. They bundled all the books so I’m over here wondering why? Will we actually use all of them? I also wish they can tell us what day or days clinical will be. Im trying to give my job notice but can’t until …….now Is clinical two days a week? What week is it preferably? A lot of confusion on my part

Hi! Don't stress!

Yes you use all the books (and you will be tested from most and use the rest for clinical work) but the book for 100 I suggest renting or getting used because you never need it again.

They bundle the books because its a better deal. The 2nd year bundle if priced out on whats in it saved me about $125

We are also waiting for clinicals for 2nd year so I'm in the same boat as you there. Clinicals can be 1day per week or 2 days. It depends on what the hospital allows (if you are in person at a hospital)

Clinicals can be any day except Sunday, I had one on Saturday last semester. But if you do 2 days they usually have 2 days in a row in hopes you can have the same patients.

For the med math, if you have the book there should be a code inside for online questions and it leads you through each one which is nice

Hope this helps!

Heyyy I'm good, trying to be patient with not knowing my schedule yet. I need to set up drop off & pick up for my 2 kids... I'm a very organized person that needs to plan everything out. I need a backup for my backup. Blame it on being a Virgo LOL, but not knowing what the hell is going on is driving my anxiety through the roof.

I  am a libra I am the same way! It’s really ridiculous! I can’t even figure my work schedule. So when will we know? Also what’s the schedule for the first 2 weeks of school? Do we need to be there Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday?

I don't know about 1st year clinical, but they told 2nd year that clinical would be put up mid-late August. So soon hopefully!

Yes, I do remember first semester orientation being multiple days.

Ohhhhh okay! So I will definitely know way before I start school what day my clinical will be?
