  1. I don't know if things changed since I applied, but a 3.89 overall sounds pretty good. Make sure you have solid grades in math and sciences (bio, A&P etc) as they recalculate the GPA with just required classes Good luck!
  2. Hi! Yes I was working 32hrs/wk while in school. Being an LPN may help you too as you will have some of the knowledge already! Good luck!
  3. Hi! What I meant was to complete the non-pre-requisite classes prior to starting the program (A&p2, child psych, I don't know what else is suggested now ?) This allowed me to focus fully on nursing school work, and not also have to worry about an exam on muscle insertion sites or a paper also due. Sorry for any confusion!
  4. Oh thats so sweet! Really the whole second year I suggest getting out of your comfort zone at clinical and putting yourself in new spaces. Someone is using a gtube? Guess where you're going? Personally I found 2nd year easier than first because it's less memorization and more understanding Disease process. A few friends and I did split a simple nursing subscription and I found his quick sheets super helpful for studying Good luck, and see you on the licensed side!
  5. Hi! I graduated in 2022 so things may have changed but yes they are only looking at the required courses, so if you failed astronomy it doesn't count haha As far as classes, when I applied classes in progress were counted but I would try to speak to an advisor! I found it's less stressful to have everything done and only do the nursing classes, but that's your decision ? If you have other questions you can message me too!
  6. Questions are what the thread was made for! ?
  7. I found the requirements for waiver of CSS. You must fulfill one of the following: the student already holds an Associate's degree or higher; • the student has earned 30 or more transfer credits; the student has earned 30 or more Bristol credits with a GPA of 2.5 or better; or • the student has a combination of 30 or more transfer and Bristol credits with a GPA of 2.5 or better.
  8. I believe that is a course like bio or chemistry for student who have never been to college before. It can be waived after a certain amount of credits but you might want to check the bcc website
  9. 1 × 12hr day or 2 × 6hr days any day of the week from Tuesday to Saturday regardless of cohort. Nothing Sunday for those with religious obligations, and no Mondays for exams and for traditional to have class. Clinicals will usually be mixed ehealth and traditional
  10. I think 1st year was most challenging academically. Fall because we didn't know how to answer like a nurse, and mat/peds because I find all the changes in kids very weird! (Memorize vaccine schedules, development milestones, and stages now) My maternity clinicals were the most enjoyable though, If you have the chance to see a c-section and/or go to NICU please take it. (unless you have personal reasons not to)
  11. Hello! Sorry I should probably introduce myself. I graduated in 2022 from BCC and now work in the ER. I was also in ehealth! ?
  12. Hi! I graduated from BCC in 2022 (the covid class, RIP my mental health LOL) Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I hope you get in!
