Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.
My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much.
(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)
CON have lots of applicants, so you need to be persistent in following up your application with them.Sent from my iPad using allnurses.com
Thanks for the advise. I will continue to ask for updates from them but at the same time will also look for other schools. Which school do you think is ok? thanks!

What is your preference when it comes to school? In terms of location, tuition fees, etc?

Anywhere would do except for the TF part.. i cannot afford ETEA's TF.. I am also thinking about my Ahpra LOe's expiry. I am hoping to get into a program before June 2013. ... Do you know someone who keeps on asking COn abt his/her app then it was granted?

You try to apply at IHNA, AAON, LTU, etc.. There are lots of schools out there.. When is the expiry of your eligibility? You need to find a school with an earlier intake because LOE should be valid until the end of your course. And until you apply for registration..Or if not, you may ask for an extension of your eligibility from AHPRA, from the state where you lodged our application. I had the same situation with you because i tried applying at CON before. They have lots of applicants because their tuition is the cheapest.. I keep on asking about the stAtus of my application but they cant offer any slot, they alwAys tell me to wait, wait til next week, wAit til next month, wait for a slot, and so on..i just got tired and gave up con..

I reckon that it doesnt matter if what nurse job you do as long as you practiced as a nurse. I know some people who worked as an Call center agent nurse but she was still approved by APHRA and the school. I suggest you go to IHNA one of the cheapest in victoria. BUt make sure you always call them or email them, and pay ASAP if they asked you too. Take it easy buddy!
Has anyone noticed all threee ACFE, expired 30.9.12, IHNA expires 30.11.12 and ETEA - 30.11.12, for the their bridging programs when all the other courses are already been given 1-3 years creditation.
I jut wish the ANMAC would just announce what is happening and the reasons why it is by a month by month creditation.
It is not fair that these schools are taking applicants and money for next year and no word from the creditation agencies, except a changes in a list on the bridging schools with AHPRA, no announcements no explanations!!!!
WHAT IS HAPPENING! can anyone enlighten us!
I'm for January IHNA. School keep saying that it will come through or it has, what is the truth?
