I'm looking for anyone who is applying to this school this year. Please let us know when you applied and any progress you make to getting accepted. Good luck to everyone!
I applied in early Dec. and decided to to retake the TEAS test before sending it for review. Form what I understand it takes anywhere from 2 weeks - 2 months to get accepted or not. Past experience has said more like the 2 months is the norm. I should be getting my results from the TEAS test today and it will be promptly moved to review next week (1/19/15). I will confirm the date when it actually gets sent.
I will update any progress as I get it.
Hey guys, so I FINALLY got through to bhsn by phone and was told that at this point all files are on the the "same level" and that letters are going out almost daily!
I'm assuming she meant "same level" as, all files are on the same page at this point (meaning, a decision is being determined for all remaining files).
Lol, If if that makes sense?? Anyway, I'm praying & hoping that the rest of us hear something SOON!
Hey guys!! My name is Afua. So I have a really long story but my hope is to get into the BHSN program in Fall of 2016. So my situation is I was in a nursing program, West Penn Hospital School of Nursing and was about to graduate in ten weeks but I didn't pass my current course by 1.5%.....7 questions. Yup....But it wasn't even because of the work or the curriculum. I had other issues going on my in my life that took a toll on me and really affected my performance on tests. I do live in CT and the school I went to was in PA...so I was also away from home by 7 hours. It was really hard having no close support system. So I really want to continue to going to school. I can't go back because I also didn't pass a course the previous two years by 3%. I wanted to know, how hard is it to get into BHSH. Both my A&P grades are B and I have a C in Micro. I also have a previous bachelors from UCONN with allied health sciences. I have my CNA license and also worked while going to school. I definitely would be able to get recommendations from nurses I worked with as well as teachers and even the dean of my school. It's not like I was a bad student. My teachers did see my passion to be a nurse and how hard I worked. I just had other stuff in my life that affected me. So I want to know considering my situation, what do you guys think? The honest truth also. My nursing school GPA with nursing courses is not that great, I believe I got a C with all my nursing courses, but my sciences courses are good, both B's in A&P, C in Micro, as well as a bachelors. Also I took the TEAS before and did really really well on it. I know I would have to take it again.
Also does anyone else know other two year nursing programs in Ct. I know there is Norwalk. Is St. Vincent's still open or anywhere else?
Rglover unfortunately this is suppose to be Bridgeport's last year doing nursing, thereafter they will be merging to UB for a 4yr course, that's another reason why we're all so anxious to get in this term, but it's not set in stone as of yet but 98% chance they will be merging. Keep that in mind. Yes it's kinda very hard to get into bhsn as its very competitive as any other program also. The only other programs for CT is Norwalk & at v's.
Thanks. I understand all nursing programs are hard to get into. I'm just wondering since I failed out, I wonder if it would be even harder for me. Maybe I already know the answer to that question...Well we will see. I will look into Norwalk and St. Vincent. Do you know what their science course grade requirements are? Also do you know if St. Vincent or Norwalk require you to complete your science courses before or you can do it during the program. I mean I have mine done, but wouldn't mind having to repeat them to get an A even if I got a B.
