Is anyone else applying for the part-time Spring 2014 term? Any full-time applicants?

I was getting ready to way that time is finally here! I pray that we don't have to wait too long either! Good luck everyone!

Hi All,

I've applied to the part-time program as well. I decided to do the part-time, rather than the full-time last minute so just took the Kaplan Monday. Since we all like to compare stats...I have a prior graduate degree in Counseling (3.94). Bachelor's is something like a 3.2, but I was told the Master's would be the one that would be used. Also, got an 84 on the Kaplan. Not a Brenau student, yet :) I'm praying and hoping for a good result! I feel a little like the criteria changed somewhat depending upon who I spoke with at Brenau? Oh well, it's all a done deal now. Now just to wait!! I hope to be chatting about our acceptance letters soon!

Hi psych.rn2b! Thanks for joining in with us! You have great stats! What did you mean about the criteria changing? I not a Brenau student yet either. I took my prereqs at my local community college to save money. Have you finished with all of them? Good luck and hopefully we will all be getting acceptance letters:)

Ahhh! I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't stressed about acceptance letters until now. It's the final countdown! I can't wait to hear who's going to be there and I hope I'm one of them! Good luck to everyone!!! We can do this!

Hello all, again. My understanding is that we won't receive any letters before Sept 20th. So hang in there until then. Good luck, again. :)

@psych: Welcome, and congrats on your stats. You are very, very competitive. Do you have any prereqs left to take? Further good luck to you. :)

Glenna, the new criteria is that they added 4 more prereqs to be completed BEFORE the program starts, but that is not applying to us right now only if we don't get in and we renew our application. :-/ :-(

Thank you for clarifying that about the classes. Also, now I know just to relax and wait!

Ohhh, Ummnasim, you're the one that asked about the new criteria :D My vision is letting me down Lol. :) Hope you're doing well and yeah, try not to stress too much until the 20th. It feels like forever! :-/

Hi ummnasim! What I meant by the "criteria changing" was that depending upon who I asked or what I read on the website, the information was a a little different. For instance, on the website it states that the overall GPA of every course you've taken will be counted. My admissions advisor (in the general admissions office) told me that my Master's degree would be the one considered, since it is more recent (not overall GPA). The secretary seemed to think that my prior degree wasn't going to be very important in the decision making process, however, she didn't really seem as informed as the admissions person...so I'm going with her opinion.

I'm glad to join in! I have so many questions about the specifics of the program. I did the tour, but it was just that (a tour). I wonder which semester clinicals will begin and when are we to take pathophysiology and medical terminology?

I'm taking prereqs at a local community college as well. I will be finished this fall. Just finishing up A&P2 right now, final Monday.

One last thing...I was told (and it states on the website) that the decision would be made late August. I see here someone posted that it would not be until late September. I sure hope it doesn't take that long. Anyone else have any info on that?

Thanks Adria,

Yes, I still need a couple of courses and doing that this fall. How about you? Well, my stats are good if they just go off the Master's. My Bachelor's is around a 3.2. If you don't mind, how did you hear about letters not going out before Sept. 20th? I was told by the end of August.

And good luck to you as well!! I hope we can chat soon about getting our acceptance letters :)

I understand what you saying now. Yeah, the information is different between the two departments. I talked with one of the professors two weeks ago for what I thought was suppose to be my advising appointment but I don't it was and I asked her what my gpa was. What she quoted to me was what I thought I had but I wasn't sure if that was including the science gpa because I would think it would be a little higher.

I think we might be taking medical terminology our first semester but I am not sure about pathophysiology.

I was suppose to go on the tour Monday but I realized my son wouldn't be at the daycare and I wouldn't have anyone to watch him.

Psych,

I heard that info from someone that also applied to Brenau but she will not have the file completed before the PT RN program starts. I think she was either misinformed or she misunderstood the info she was given, because I called my admission adviser and told me that the letters will start going out only after Aug, 22nd. So you were right; by the end of Aug!

Whew! Three more weeks, and we'll know something. Time sure is ticking.
