I was just wondering how you feel about this subject. Do you have them? Would you get them? Have you cared for patients with them and what was your experience? Have you seen any good or bad outcomes?
Happyjax,Since you were small like me, did you have much trouble getting used to all the new volume sitting on your chest? If too personal and nosy of me please ignore.
I did at first. It was very strange. But that passed. Once you get used to them, they become a part of your body. I lay on my chest without problems.
Frog,Thank you for your candid opinion. My only frustration with this is that men do notice women with the large breasts MUCH MORE than us smaller ones. I have one significantly padded bra, and if I get asked out, it's nearly always on the rare padded bra day.
So what is frustrating is I hear from men occasionally what you said...but then who do they ask out? The women with large breasts. It's enough to make a girl go get a boob job.
i hear you, as a boob man id notice bigger breasted women more, but also a great smile............. big or small boobs though i dont have the nerve to ask either out:imbar
Two of my cousins both have the silicone implants since 1980, they have never had a problem & still have em! I guess some bodies reject & others do well.Has anyone has Botox or Restylane yet? A couple of my friends had, they are the same age, middle 40's...big difference how they looked before. Shaved about 7-10 years off their age!
I work for a plastic surgeon....great job, great perks!
I do not like the idea of injecting botox...but the Restylane is very nice! I have used it myself....last about 6 -12 months.
Cost to pts is expensive....$600/syringe.....but they keep coming back for more!
Yeah, I had a patient who had them. 50s or 60s or so. She had a CABG, and one of them got popped somehow. So here's this older lady, with big perky boob, and one literally, deflated looking boob.Really, though, perky breasts just didn't look right on someone her age.
That'll be me:p . BIG PERKY boobs at 80 in a nursing home....while everything else is flat, I'll still have my boobs!
I got silicone implants when I was 20. I had less than an A cup, and I just wanted a little something. I only got small ones, so they are a B cup. Now that I am 30-something, and a size 8-10 instead of a size 5, I could go up to a C cup and be proportional. I am kind of glad that I did it, because I was very self concious about my flat-chestedness, but I have always worried about potential problems. I recently had my first mamogram, and I was so worried that they would "pop". Fortunately, the mammographer was experienced at doing women with implants, and was very careful.
I also had a hard time breast-feeding, and I was always worried that maybe my son would ingest some silicone. Also, I never lay on my stomach, for fear of rupturing them.
So the moral of the story is.......I would get them if you want them and you are less than an A cup. Otherwise, I don't think they are worth the pain, money, and risk of complications
I'm interested in learning more about Restylane. Can you share with me the risks? I've considered it but have concerns about adverse reactions. I had breast augmentation by the way and LOVE it. I didn't suffer from low self-esteem, just wanted a new look after decades of being very flat chested. I'm happily married and not trying to attract men. It's fun wearing clothes now and I feel very feminine. I'm not a girly-girl mind you. I ride horses, hike and enjoy the outdoors. Life IS short and with a good surgeon this is a great procedure.

Annor...sounds like a great job. Yes, I heard & "inquired" to a few places in my area regarding the Botox & Restylane. Yep, the Botox often doesn't last very long, 3-4 months with some people. But, I have heard nothing but great things about the Restylane lasting quite some time. But, isn't the Restylane for the folds around the mouth only or are they using it like Botox in the forehead and crowsfeet as well. That is what I was told at one of the doctors' office that I called. Appreciate any info. Yes, I heard it is expensive, but the Botox for 3 quadrants came to about $575-650. I just feel that I look "older" and I keep myself in shape...so why not get rid of the forehead lines/facial lines?! Vanity, eh! :chuckle

[color=darkslategray]i don't know if i'd get implants (don't have 'em) but i'd definitely go for a mastopexy. after losing over 100 lbs, my boobs are totally deflated. my bra basically keeps the skin up and together. believe me, i save all of my overtime pay in a savings acct for the day!
