Breaking Contract

I am currently working as a supplemental pool RN in central Texas. This is my first job since graduating and I have about seven months of experience at present. By the end of my year long internship I will have been trained in the pediatric medical surgical floor, the neonatal ICU, and the pediatric ICU. My question is this. My husband is active duty military and has just received orders to go to Georgia at the beginning of February 2017. My contract is for three years and I will have completed only one year by that time. Do you think they will make me buy out of my contract even though I don't have any choice but to leave? Also, I have completed my orientation to NICU and med surge, but I am worried that they won't send me to PICU if I tell them I'm leaving in order for the hospital to save money.

    Talk to a lawyer? It depends on what your contract says, I would think.

    I agree with discussing this with a lawyer. If possible, make an appointment with one at base legal at your husband's base, as they likely have experience with problems similar to yours. I also think that you should let your employer know sooner, rather than later.
