Hi, I have been a nurse (BSN) for just about two years now, and while I still consider myself a "baby nurse" I think I have had ample time to feel out what nursing entail outside of the academic structure. In highschool I had hopes of going to medical school, but My grades were average and I was discouraged by many a family member. Now that I have begun my career as an RN I am feeling disappointed with my efforts and overall disatisfied. I am reaching out to any nurses who have been in a similar situation. I am 23 and feel that I still have time to go to medical school if I really put my all into it. My biggest concerns revolve around the logistics of returning to school. I no longer have the luxury of being single and living on campus with little to worry about but my grads. I have a husband and a full time job and a mortgage to pay for. I guess what I am asking is for anyone who has gone down this road, how did you do it? Is it possible to remain part time as an RN while attending medical school? Do you even think it is worth it in my situation? I don't want to be a nurse. I can see that now. But I hope to stay in the medical field and I need to prove to myself that I have what it takes to earn my MD. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hello, I have been a nurse for about a year now and recently married a military man. He is set to be moved to Germany in the next few years and I am apparently going with him. My plan was to re enroll in school for a degree in medicine, but this news has changed some things. I know this is oddly specific, but does anyone have any useful information/contacts regarding beginning and education in Germany? Do I need to be fluent in the language? Is the MCAT an international test? Does having previous nursing experience help when your application is being considered? Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks Haley H.

I am currently working as a supplemental pool RN in central Texas. This is my first job since graduating and I have about seven months of experience at present. By the end of my year long internship I will have been trained in the pediatric medical surgical floor, the neonatal ICU, and the pediatric ICU. My question is this. My husband is active duty military and has just received orders to go to Georgia at the beginning of February 2017. My contract is for three years and I will have completed only one year by that time. Do you think they will make me buy out of my contract even though I don't have any choice but to leave? Also, I have completed my orientation to NICU and med surge, but I am worried that they won't send me to PICU if I tell them I'm leaving in order for the hospital to save money.
