Hi All,
I'm wondering if any one has heard of Brandman University. They have a new ABSN program in San Diego, CA that i'm looking into. My grades are not competitive but i want to get into my career soon.
Has anyone been to this school, and if so, how did you like it? Do you think I'll be able to land a good job as an RN if I were to apply and attend? I'm nervous, since it is a new program! Such as, what if they end up closing and the degree won't be valid ?
Thanks in advance.
Anyone having issues getting onto blackboard? I can’t seem to be able to log in at all to it.
yes I’ve used blackboard and canvas in past. Normally I use the app on IPad and phone and type school in and super easy. Brandman I guess is not set up for app device use. But I’ve tried on the website itself and I keep getting an error after log in. Now it does nothing.
class starts tomorrow, anyone have suggestions?
So Carmen said this is regards to the Brandman Articulation Database:
"If it is articulated to Nursing we do not have to petition. I would caution using the database that is online as it is for General Educational requires for non-nursing BA degree’s . You have to be careful on how you read it for Nursing . "
So this is why there is a issue. Apparently the database for articulation does not apply to the nursing students. So its all up to the dean of nursing to decide what she wants to take.

Thank you I appreciate it!

Hi, just received this email from my advisor. We’re your classes the science classes you petitioned and was it lower division the database? “Courses are not petitioned for transfer unless someone is an admitted student. So if you are selected for admittance, you would then submit your syallbi for review. Keep in mind some courses may have the same description but are upper division versus lower division. Hold on to the syllabi please. Thank you!”

yes please, I'll take that syllabus if you still have it. thank you
Hey All!
I was wondering for those that are in the program or entering the program - how strong does the program help you prepare for the NCLEX Exam? I want to find out what you guys think and if you have to study more outside of the test preps that they provide for you? Does anyone know anything about it? Thank you in advance!
Hey lovelies.....
For the students already started in nurse core and doing their clinicals at sites or the sim labs if any. Have you received your uniforms yet?
Is anyone else having sizing issues and what did anyone else buy as shoes?
We had white or black as options, what did you all choose?
Also how strict were they on buying extras to have from outside vendors. I don't love the idea of one scrub set for all week. I would prefer if I could use ones I have to be able to wash in between wear days.
And preferably scrubs that fit better or are better nicer material.
Any feedback please shoot me back ?
Hi, we have not received our uniforms yet. I did hear that they run large so I sized down. They are lenient on the scrub bottoms as long as they are Burgundy but not the scrub top as they need to have the Brandman logo. I am waiting to receive my free pair so I can color match the scrub pants although I'm sure all Burgundy colors are alike. I know you can order more uniforms through their vendor with your own out of pocket money. As for shoes, I'm opting for all black nikes or Adidas.
sounds like my plans too. I was thinking black shoes were better than white as white gets dirty so fast. I just want something comfy and slide on. I’m so typical Californian and used to flip flops all year. So something like vans or crocs is good. No laces...LOL... crocs are popular bc they wash and can be sanitized at hospitals if need be. Just not super awesome looking.
Let me know once you get your pants, shoot a picture as I wasn’t sure if it would be what kind of burgundy. I found so many that look burgundy color but say “wine” or other colors in that scheme. I want to order whatever I can find in cheap price as extras. I don’t care style just don’t want the same outfit everyday. I already wash for 5 kids and sports clothes I don’t love laundry.
No one has finished and graduated yet from the BSN program. There won’t be NCLEX-RN scores posted probably for the next few graduating classes to show pass rates as a pattern. Some schools don’t post them at all. So who knows?
‘You could always look into what their pass rates are for the MSN and DNP programs as those have been going for awhile and should be posted within the California state board website. It isn’t the same exam but still should give good evidence on how well they teach the APRN courses. Which is a harder set of exams from what I heard. Depending on what you specialize in as APRN, as that is the exam you are tested for.
@Chunkybubblz3 hey thanks for your reply! That’s a great idea, I’ll look to see if hey have anything posted for that program!! ? On another note I’m currently waiting for my admissions status so hoping for the best!!
