Bradley University

Updated:   Published

I'm desperate for some advice from my fellow professional nurses out there. I've found some complaints regarding Bradley University on this site. I was going to start the program next month but now I'm hesitant. The complaints are about Bradley outsourcing to other companies. Does anyone out there know anything about Bradley? Until now I've not found anything negative. I'm not crazy about marketing companies handling some aspects of the university. I'm in Maryland, so now I'm considering George Washington University, in DC. Their program starts in the fall.

I am currently enrolled at Bradley University and like the program (started in Aug 2016). I find it easy to keep pace with the classes, which are usually 8 weeks long (I had one 15 week class - Assessment). My advice is to work as far ahead as you can, without loosing pace with the class. I will be starting clinicals in Jan 2018 and let me give you a little piece of advice, THERE IS NO PRECEPTOR LIST!! No matter what the recruiter says, THERE IS NO PRECEPTOR LIST!! You MUST do the leg work yourself and find your OWN preceptor (which can be challenging depending where you live), so start early. I hope this helps out some. If you have any questions, let me know. Wishing you good luck!!

hi kam. I. am. I got your reply back about me asking you if you are still in the program and you said no you transferred to south. I am also looking at that school. I'm getting a better vibe from them rather than bradley. I feel like they are lying to me about the program. I am replying back to you this way because it said I cant send a message more than once a day. thanks for your help , it is just a nighmare trying to find the right FNP school. thank you!

Count me in for attending Bradley's BSN to DNP program January 4th. I'm excited and ready to start!

did you graduate from this program. I got accepted to start in aug and I am very nervous from all the bad reviews and the way my advisor talks, I feel like she lies and I have to take another stats class when I did already for nursing school. Bradley has double the classes for their NP program versus a lot of the other online NP programs, not sure why???

I have my ADN and I'm deciding between Bradley University or Walden University for their ADN - MSN FNP Program. I seriously need help, I've heard good and terrrrrrible things about both programs so I'm torn. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated as well as other school options.

Hi I am a current Bradley student finishing in August. I was torn as well but I can truly say I’m glad I chose Bradley. I am completing the post masters FNP so I can’t speak for the process of ADN-FNP but I only had trouble with one professor in the biology department. The nursing staff rocked. Now you do have to find your own clinicals. Another point in my book is that during this COVID-19. Many of us lost clinical sites. What I didn’t realize is that Bradley had prepared me by requesting more than the minimum clinical hours. So as I go onto my last semester because I have more clinical hours that is required to sit for the boards, they have developed a personalized plan of alternative assignments so I can graduate on time.

Hello every one

I got accepted for FNP certificate but the enrollment advisor did not answer my questions clearly and I do not feel they can handle this online program.

Does anyone study at FNP Certificate program at Bradley University?I really appreciate to share your experience with me.

You have your MSN/DNP and your only doing FNP certificate? Is that correct? I've been with Bradley online for 3 years. I'm in the FNP portion right now. I have nothing to compare grad school with but others testimonies. You are 100% responsable for your education as an adult learner. There is no teaching, some power points, some Youtube or primed videos. Bradley is no different than any other grad level nursing program. Classes are concurrent and while instructors are available its a matter of teacher personality as to what kind of feed back- if any- you get. They are accredited so proctered tests with Examity and Bs only in nursing classes are requiered. Shadow health and typhon are used. Sakai is the learning platform- it's good. I like it and I wouldnt be satiisfied with other interfaced on the market. They have a writing lab and exstensive library services- theres only been one research article I couldnt get from their online data bases. Students use many MANY extra program online tools to complete course work- we do what we have to do, including amboss, perrla, Dr been and others. I have not completed clinicals as the same time as classes yet, but it isn't worse than three theory classes at once! Just like anything else- if you want it, nothing can stop you. FNP isn't going to be easier any where else. Students are nice and usually very helpful. We share study guides, resources, words of wisdom, group projectsIf readily. If you do deside to join, it won't be easy, but the end result is whats worth it! Good luck!

I am going through all of this right now and I have been in the program for 8 weeks. First they doubled up my classes and now I sit for 8 weeks not taking anything because I was told "follow the program of study". I now cannot find a clinical site for my Community health hours because the Dean denied my first set of paperwork and we are in the middle of a pandemic. I was then told they could rearrange my "program of study" for that case if I cannot take my clinical class. I am torn on continuing the program or going somewhere else.

Hi I'm starting Bradley DNP FNP program in April. I do agree that we are adult learners and if we want an FNP we should do what we need to do to get it. Honestly every school has there bad points. I went to University of Maryland as an undergrad and as good as the school reputation is not all of their teachers are great teachers so I'm not too concerned about having to teach ourselves at this point. Just want a DNP in the end. I don't know where you live but I live in Maryland. Do you have any advice or suggestions in regards to getting preceptor? That is my main concern. If anyone else lives in Maryland attending Bradley please respond as well about which sites you have used. I'm hoping since I work for on of the Hopkins hospital I could get preceptor at their community physician offices.

Hi Bree. Did you end up going to Bradley? I'm starting in April and just wanted to see what you think of it so far if you did go. thanks

Before you enroll in the Bradley DNP program, you need to read the reviews. The issues are real and once your in, changing schools is a nightmare. Talk to students in the program. Try to get access to the FB forum at the school. You won't find happy students. Do they have some good instructors? Yes. Will your student experience be good? Unlikely. You will pay for a premium education and get treated like your at a low end state school. Be careful!
