Boston Medical Center New Grad Nurse Trainee Program Fall 2015

Published

Hello all,

Just curious if anyone else applied for this opportunity? I did back in May. Yesterday I got an email that required recorded interactive interview. Never did one of those before. It was interesting to do after getting past all of the browser issues. Now they sent out another email that requested transcripts be uploaded and a volunteer form be uploaded, yet I can't upload them to my Taleo account like they requested. I sent an email and left a voice mail, and I haven't heard back. It only lets me review, wont let me edit my account. Anyone else running into this same issue. Anyone know what a new grad at Boston Medical Center makes an hour?

Thanks

For anyone that applied they fixed the site so you can upload the required documents. I am now under consideration since July 16th.

I did. But the stats are overwhelming. Over 600 applicants for 18 slots. I'm not banking on anything.

Hi MommaTy!

How exciting to have heard from BMC! I am a new graduate nurse in Boston but am choosing to relocate simply for the experience. I have been invited for interviews for new grad programs in Oklahoma and in Atlanta. These institutions are also using video interactive tools, in my opinion, for screening purposes. I have heard that they tend to hire from out of state so this is a cost / time effective manner in which to approach their hiring process.

Can you please share your video interview experience for BMC? I am so nervous and my dream job is on the line! What types of questions were you expected to answer? How much time did you get to answer? Any advice as I move forward in my own interview? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Goodluck & I hope you hear from them soon!

So it was just like the basic questions. Explain what you did for volunteer work, they require it there. Explain how you fit their hospital's moto and vision. Explain your top 3 nursing areas. It gave you a time limit of 3 min. You could listen to it. I didn't pay attention if you could re-record or not. I liked all of my answers. If you are using a lap top, I suggest getting ear buds because the echo from the laptop with the speakers will be outrageous if you don't. Good luck to you too! Thanks

So they are moving along in the process. They are hearing back from managers today. I have an interview for this Wednesday! I feel blessed to be chosen after they reviewed my interview video :) Anyone else hear anything yet?

Hi!

Congrats on your progress for the BMC New Grad Program! I also just got a call back today and am interviewing later this week as well. Completely nerve wracking but good luck to you! In response to your first post, I believe the new grad program pays close to 25$ per hour.

Congrats to you too! What department are you having the interview for? Mine is for Maternal Child Health. In 2008 they were 30.00 an hour. I don't think they would go down since 2008 to 25.00. In western mass they are offering 28 an hour, which always pays a lot less than Boston.

I landed a job as a Pedi RN that's starts at 29.00 and is flexible with my new school schedule. So I won't be continuing. Good luck to everyone!

Okay so here is what happened. 500 people applied for the L&D residency. The HR lady said she narrowed it down to 10 (me being one of them) for 3 positions. They will have me go back for a 4 person panel interview on August 24th (OMG barf, that makes me really nervous). But she wanted to explain the process and tell me how much she loved my video and that is why she chose me. Its a 1 year residency and this is the first time they are having it for L&D. I guess I will get an email that I have to put in like 2 manager emails and 3 co worker emails. Then they have to fill out a survey. Once they get 3 good ones it will be fine. I feel honored to be chosen just to get this far. If I don't get it no biggie, but still feel great that I got as far as I have. She said the panel interview is to see how you interact with people.

You're very informed haha good to hear! Yeah that's just the range I had heard from a family friend who works in a separate department so I'm sure thats just her guess! I will be interviewing for maternal child health as well. I hope your interview went well today! Best of luck!
