Boston College DNP 2021

I know there's a thread for the last Master's cohort but I don't believe there's one for those of us applying for the DNP cohort? Figured I'd start one.

I'm retaking some science classes to help my GPA a bit so I opted out of the Master's cohort to allow myself more time to complete them. Anyone else applying for the DNP program?

Hey, yes I’m also applying for the DNP program, I submitted my application 7/30. This is my first time applying for CRNA, I also applied to MUSC and University of Maryland. I am currently in Virginia and work in a level 1 trauma center. I have 5 years ICU experience, 4 in NSICU and the last year and a half CSICU.
Do you know when they start sending interview invites?

Hi, do you mind sharing your stats?

Received email that I was accepted starting this coming January!  No interview...

Did you interview for the masters?

Hi, I applied for the geron primary care DNP program and didn’t have to interview for it.

Oh maybe I’m on the wrong thread, I applied for the DNP for nurse anesthesia

I just submitted my application tonight, at the deadline on 11-15-2020 for the Direct Entry DNP Program with an intended speciality of Family Nurse Practitioner. This is the only school that I am applying to!

I know that I am an older student (I finished my bachelor's more than 10 years ago!) and have my MPH from super competitive program and top ranked school (at least it was super competitive when I applied in 2010 for 2011 admission). I have an undergrad GPA of 3.8 from a small school with a B.S degree in Psychobiology (behavioral neuroscience) and a master's in public health (MPH) and speciality graduate certification in Pharmaceuticals with a 3.7 GPA. As for the pre-requisites, 4 are outstanding but will be completed by the end of the year. Those that have been completed have a final grade of an A or A+. I didn't submit GRE scores since the last time I took it was over a decade ago and ETS no longer has a record of my scores. I have a lot of work experience with some notable ones being at the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Wish me luck! :)

I wanted to comment about some of the posts in last year's forum thread...

I read on last year's forums that a lot of people with super awesome credentials weren't accepted into Boston College's Direct DNP program.

A few mentioned they weren't accepted because of their financial situation and clearly wrote that others with the ability to pay were admitted instead of them. When I was completing the application, there was literally no mention of finances anywhere in the application. How did they come to this conclusion?

I am able to pay in full for the program in cash, with no loans or any questions asked. I know I am incredibly fortunate and so thankful I am in a financial position to do so! BC has no way of knowing this since they didn't even ask if I wanted to be considered for financial aid.

With that being said, why did numerous DNP applicants in the recent past years mention or heavily imply that they weren't accepted to the program due to their inability to pay?
