Hi oakinbola,
I just tested yesterday(nclex-pn) I studied from Kaplan Strategies book & The Study Guide from this website...it is to die for!!!!!! I had lots of questions similar to the practice questions in the kaplan book and the strategies were very helpful eliminating wrong answers from the nclex....
I also used Saunders Comprehensive & exam cram but they were mainly for content....
Hope this helped...Good luck :-)
Hello,
In my humble opinion, there are a lot of good NCLEX books, but none are great, I really encourage you to have at least 2.
I use Sander’s comprehensive review in my NCLEX class after spending hours of compare and contract. I believe it is what suits graduate nurses the best, and it is one of the better one on the market.
However, having said that, I believe, you need to go seek out which textbook that is BEST for your learning.
Again, I think it would be wise to pick out 2 NCLEX books to supplement each other. Don't have a library of NCLEX books when in reality you're probably won't go through them. Try to understand your weakness; is it knowledge concept, or test taking issue.
Then find the textbook that will strengthen your needs.
Good luck,
Ellen
I personally recommend the Saunders Comprehensive review book. If your content is weak, I suggest you take some time reviewing with the book. Having a good foundation is essential when you're applying test-taking strategies. After you're confident with your nursing knowledge, then stick to doing questions everyday. If you come across a topic you don't remember or not sure about, read about it as soon as you can.
I took the NCLEX RN this morning, getting the good pop up from PVT but waitng to hear officially.
I studied from the Saunders book, the school provided us with Kaplan which in my opinion is the best prep, however the school also had an option of purchasing the Virtual ATI which I did purchase and after an intense 4-6week prep you take the ATI predictor which gives you an percentage of success on the NCLEX. I dont know if it was alot of help but I guess over-prep is better than under-prep.
Good Luck to you all
