what books to study for nclex and do I needto go to kaplan?
@ hotnurse408 I use the kaplan book for about 3weeks....I used kaplan & Saunders mainly I cant say for you whether they're good enough but for me it helped....I also did about 200 /'s a-day for 2weeks before the test! doing the questions helped out a lot also! Good luck :-))

I PASSED MY NCLEX-PN!!!!!!!!!
Yes it helped me alot!! I also used the kaplan strategies to answer all my priority ?'s. The main things I focused on were Meds(side effects, & s/s), disease process, LABS, and how to answer the questions....I felt like once I knew the content, I needed to learn how to answer the questions(and it worked!) with the med questions I focused on the suffix since I had previously grouped the meds according to their suffix(Dipine, lol's, ards, sartans, ect.,) With the labs, I used family members ages to remember the values, (silly, I know, but it helped!) Hope that lil bit of info helped. Good luck on your test! I'll be prayn for all who will be taking the test! :-)))

I PASSED MY NCLEX-PN!!!!!!!!!
Hi Karen!! Welcome...First lemme tell you I am a poor test taker & struggled with tests all through nursing school...The only material I used to study from was Kaplan strategies book,($25.99 from B&N) the info from this website, saunders comprehensive, and a lil from other sources. Now with the SATA ?'s, I wasnt too worried when I got a SATA question vause at that point I knew I was doing well. Even when I knew I got that question wrong, I knew I had to answer the next on e correctly(it would be a weaker ?) Also, I knew the content for what they were asking and I answered them as "true/false" questions. Just know everytime you get a SATA u know you're doing well, and even if you get the SATA question wrong, you will get a weaker question, just be sure to answer the next right. For study time: I JUST SIMPLY BUCKLED DOWN! I cut some friends off, I took 2 weeks off of work, and I applied myself to a study plan...8hrs a-day(2hrs at a time)...I studied the areas where I was most weak in 1st, then I studied the labs, meds, & diseases...Im so glad almost everything that was on the 39 page study guide was on my nclex test!! I hope this eases your mind, Im wishing you good Luck & praises!!!

Im soooo relieved now....I wish I could say more right now, but the excitement is taking over! My friends & family are waiting for me to take me out to celebrate!!!! NCLEX PN In 3 weeks..any tips???
Hey there! I'm taking my nclex-pn this week...I have to tell you: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get the Kaplan strategies or some kind of material on how to answer nclex questions...I think if your familiar with the content then your next step should be getting familiar with test strategies(Nursing process, Maslow, Safety) on how to answer the questions... I purchased the 2012-2013 Kaplan Strategies, Practice, & Review Book for about $20 from B&N...I couldnt afford the Kaplan class so I opt out for the book which is really good. I also went on Kaplan's website an signed up for the online testing strategy session(free). you have plenty of time to go on there and get in one of those free online sessions. Hope this helps.... :-)) Good luck....

NCLEX-PN in 3days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sooooo nervous I dont know what to do! I've been studying and doing questions for 3weeks now...knowing the content is not the problem, my problem with the nclex is answering questions....I've done Kaplan, Saunders, & exam cram...I've also read over a 1000 rationales and I feel like a lot of the content I was having trouble with were in the rationales. Now that I'm a few days away, what's next?? I'm experiencing an extremely high volume of anxiety and I cant help but to keep focusing on this test! I can be very encouraging to everyone else around me but now its me who needs encouraging...Helppp!!(lol), but very serious... Good luck to all March test takers! :-))

NCLEX PN... preparing for it!!!
I agree with nurse.rachel 100%!!! I am scheduled to take my Nclex-pn the 1st week in March>>>woo-hoo :-( I graduated my nursing program over a year ago. I fought with NJBON for at least 9mths of that year. I finally got down to the bottom of it and my school sent another "completion letter" 3weeks ago I received my ATT 1 week later and now I am scheduled. (Just giving a run-down on where I been). To be honest, I have to say the whole time going through the chaos with the board I kinda buckled down from my studying and started to feel hopeless....Once I got my ATT I started to feel more confident and went right into study mode. At first, I too didnt have a clue where to start since it's been a while out of school. I formulated a plan and made a very serious commitment to studying,(I also prayed each time before I studied). Here's what I'm studying from: 1. Kaplan: Nclex-pn 2012/2013 Stategies, Practices, & Review 2. Saunders Comprehensive 3. I'm doing close to 200 questions a-day....like nurse.rachel said please, read the RATIONALES!!!! and write down what you don't understand even if you get the question right. Most of my study guides came from this blog...you might wanna search the blogs for "Study guides" or "Mnemonics" It's tons of info on here that can help(It has helped me tremendously)... I wish you(all) luck and blessings :-))
