I do not have the Saunders Comprehensive Review yet, but so many people from Allnurses seems to recommend it.
It seems like they come out with new editions often....I am planning to take the NCLEX in the summer of 2009 and am just about to finish up my 1st semester of nursing school. Would it be alright to go ahead and get the latest NCLEX book now? Do the newest editions change the content of the books very much?

New editions only come out every several years, they do not come out often. And only when there are enough new changes that warrant a new version.
Last one was the revised third edition that came out in February, 2006 and that was it for the RN. PN book is still in the third edition but expect a new version to be out for that as well since the newer changes went into effect last month with that exam.

Saunders is my preference. I used it to study with for my PN boards and passed with 85 questions.
I just finished my LPN to ASN bridge program and we were required to use another book throughout our classes. I used it to complete my work as assigned, but all along I knew I would go back for Saunders when I was ready to begin prep for boards. To me it was much clearer with its rationales and I liked the organization.
