Hi I am new to the board but starting the LPN at Boces Northport NY, accelerated day program that begins in March. Looking for any recent grads to share how the program was/is.
Anyone that worked and managed to get thru the program?
How soon after can you take the boards?
How intense is the program, studying per night etc?

Yes there is AC in summer bring a sweater if you get cold

I use to exersise but no I wish want to train me. I am a fatty I was aways thin my mom ended up very sick and in Stony brook hospital for 18 months I gain over 60lbs
Hey Kim, Almost Friday :nuke: Just helping my man with a project for his work so we in the office.
Exercise keeps me sane lol and keeps my stress under control lol but true
We all go thru times in life that we cant workout and gain weight and eat too much!!! But today is the perfect day to set a small goal to get back to where you wanna be!! Start with day to day, maybe a 30 minute walk 3 times a week.

Mom had a blockage in her intestine, had surgery then all heck broke out if there was a compication she got it.
MRSA & VRE in wound, a fistula in her intestine ( a hole in her intestene that feces came out of into abdominal cavity) 2 MI's and a bunch of compications that she could not get out of hospital from.
Mulitible time I got "the call" she never gave up and now she is home with a perm Illeostomy and doing great.

Wow, thats horrible with your mom. How old is she?? Thank god she is doing well but that sounds like HELL she went thru. So so much!!!
What are the uniforms for graduation??? When and where is it?? Where are the boards offered and when???

hey kim, yes, i know the month going to fly by!!! I dont have much free time now unfortuantely but all good!!! Excited but lil nervous for school, did you feel that way prior to???
going on wed to pay my $2000 deposit. do they mail you the student loan checks or they go right to the school???
then thrus going to an informational on lpn to rn that is at suffolk community. want to know whats required etc etc
have my physical on the 23rd, orientation on the 26th and getting a few other dr appts out of the way before school starts.

I was working about 50 hours a week and trying to find my replacement, but I was so pumped about school
they money goes right to BOCES

Yes you can, not alot of places hire you and if you fail the boards I hear you will be let go. So I will wait to work as an LPN till I pass the boards.
