Hi I am new to the board but starting the LPN at Boces Northport NY, accelerated day program that begins in March. Looking for any recent grads to share how the program was/is.
Anyone that worked and managed to get thru the program?
How soon after can you take the boards?
How intense is the program, studying per night etc?

I doubt very highly it will be easy, I am willing to sacrifice and give up everything for the 13 mos but although I been in college before I require alot of study time to do well!!!
the book list will come and tell you were to buy them or you will get at reg/orientation
Scrubs & unifrom you can by at at the uniform store in Selden for get the name they will give you the info on Feb 26

The packets are homework math & med terms Due the first day of class. Basic math
The Tabers dictonary any book store
No body was "Kicked Out" some people failed out, some people found they needed to work and moved to nights, others pulled out and sarted the part time class in Sept.- people did not want to go during summer ect.Others thought BOCES is easy
We lost most the first few months March -June
You do not need a computer in class, but you need a computer at home
And thats what matters most, I have had a very tough life and alot of challenges but all always worked out for the best!!! hard work and dedication has always been my way so i am ready for it!!!! And you are so so right, tough teachers make great students become great nurses!!!!

Who did your physical, my dr telling me my insurance wont cover the immunizations yet i have good ins/bc/bs go figure!!! so gotta find somewhere to go asap, want that done!!!! how many shots we need???

Hi, i do work now but for myself so I will continue to work, I have to, need to pay my bills. I worked in womens fitness for years, I currently do private trainings, I will lessen my hours and book alot of appts for weekends
I did not get financial aid either, go figure lol did you get the pell grant???
I was under th assumption school was 13 mos no breaks so I amsure the breaks are nice!!
Where are study groups, at BOCES?? Do you find they are better than studying alone??
Will all new students go on FEB 26?? Maybe we can meet, you have been so so helpful and I greatly appreciate:wshgrt:
