I've noticed that the PRC does not release the top 20 examinees anymore just top 10. In the past few years it used to release top 20 students that had topped the NLE...why is it so?
I know a close friend who got an average score of 85.4% in the last Dec. 2006 NLE...He was supposed to be in the top 20 (I guess).
Anyway, I'm just wondering about it.

Hi coffeeaddict78!I'm just curious, if you weren't able to get certificate from PRC, then how were you able to confirm that you were in the top 20? im only asking because i suspect im in the top 20 too, and when i asked them if they have a certificate for me, one of the clerks said that only the top10 are given certificates...
i was hoping to give it to my parents as a gift....:icon_hug:
-- was trying to PM you but it seems i can't. how did you know you were in the top 20? i didn't know they give out certificates until now. also, where did you review for the boards?
I believed that I also got into top 20 in the last june 2007 nursing licensure examination. I averaged 85.4 and the 10th placer got 85.8,
(a .40 difference). Did anyone get an average in between these averages, say 85.6 or 85.7? Pls PM me. I really want to know my ranking, just to get rid of my uncertainties and well, for peace of mind. Since when did the PRC change their policy in giving certificates for the top 20? When I was a student, I was told of top 13 or even top 20 from our school. I believe that those who got averages "post-top 10" should also be recognized by the PRC; considering the number of examinees and those who passed, getting into top 20 is an accomplishment. A certificate would suffice for this, nevertheless of the large number of examineers who landed on the top 20. This is very useful for employment purposes, considering the number of job seekers; competition is fierce. It is important to have the edge and not just "one of the passers" ^_^ Anyone who also has this problem, you can PM me.
I tried asking for a Certificate of Ranking from the Board of Nursing because I believe I also landed in the top 20. I actually pleaded the secretary to give me a consideration as that will truly help me in my job application..but unfortunately to no avail. I was told that only those whose names appeared in the newspaper are given such certificate. I even insisted that I know of someone who was able to get one. The reply I got was, "that was before, now not anymore." Correct me if I'm wrong, I think the general weighted average ends in even decimal numbers only (such as 85.20, 85.40, and so on..) as they are divisible by 5, representing the 5 subjects in the NLE.
Good luck in your job hunting! Anyway, there are other ways to prove that you are worthy of that job. God bless!
