I've noticed that the PRC does not release the top 20 examinees anymore just top 10. In the past few years it used to release top 20 students that had topped the NLE...why is it so?
I know a close friend who got an average score of 85.4% in the last Dec. 2006 NLE...He was supposed to be in the top 20 (I guess).
Anyway, I'm just wondering about it.

The PRC has not been releasing the Top 20 examinees since the time I took my NLE in the early 1990's. I presume the reason behind this is that there are many examinees who earned exactly the same scores on the exam, thus, many slots are shared by more than one person. If they publish all the names of the Top 20, there would probably be more than 50 names! There is still a way to find out if you made it to the Top 20...you can ask PRC directly. I myself made the Top 20, unfortuately, my name wasn't published in the newspaper because only the Top 8 examinees landed on the newspaper list. I did, however, got a certificate from PRC stating that I earned a spot in the Top 20.

I know of someone who made it to the top 20 last June 2006 NLE but when she tried to ask for a certificate of ranking from PRC, she was told that they issue such certificate only to the top 10 passers. Government agencies, or any institution for that matter, could change policies anytime.

Hi there,
they are not disqualified, in fact they have their own list of top 10, Last year PRC release Top 10 for the Regular Graduates and a different set of top 10 for the second courser...
I assume you are posting this to my attention? Pardon me if I assumed this by mistake. Anyway, feel free to PM me if you have questions about obtaining a master's degree in the US. But just as a general info - I suggest you inquire at the school of your interest first before you proceed since there may be other requirements. Generally, a GRE result, a statement of professional goals for graduate study, three professional references, and a US RN license is required for many grad programs in nursing. If your undergrad degree is from a foreign educational institution such as those in the Philippines, your transcript of records need to be reviewed by CES to determine equivalency with US standards for a BSN. You will also be required to submit TOEFL scores.

How come I also made it to the Top 12 when I took the NLE in 2000 but I did not get a certificate from PRC stating that I made it to the Top 12?:icon_roll

I dont think 2nd courser are disqualified to be a top 10. When we had our oathtaking last Oct. 2007, we were sitting beside the stage and able to see who are the top 10. I saw 1 who I think around 30 something who is included in the top 10. And there are doctors who makes it on the top 10

Hi coffeeaddict78!
I'm just curious, if you weren't able to get certificate from PRC, then how were you able to confirm that you were in the top 20? im only asking because i suspect im in the top 20 too, and when i asked them if they have a certificate for me, one of the clerks said that only the top10 are given certificates...
i was hoping to give it to my parents as a gift....:icon_hug:
