Hi everyone,
I am an overseas RN with a 10 year experience, 8 of them in BMT and haematology
I want to research the local job market and try to find something in a similar field of specialization.
I'll appreciate if you recommend hospitals in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
By the way, what kind of salary can I expect?

In the public health system where most if not all of the BMT units are I my limited experience of them salary is set down by the Nurses Award which varies from state to state. Try googling it or looking up the ANF (Australian nurses federation (union)).
Most of the major hospitals would have one. In Melbourne that would be the Royal Melbourne and The Alfred, St Vincent's, The Austin , Peter MacCallum ( a dedicated cancer hospital).
Not sure about the other states.

hi alexey,
i'm based in melbourne, and this isn't my area of specialisation so this will be incomplete. as far as i can tell, all the major public hospitals have haematology units, and most also do bmt. these include: the royal melbourne, the alfred, st vincent's, the austin (has a haematology unit but i don't think they do bmt) and peter mac, victoria's only cancer specialist hospital. according to this presentation, currently only rmh and the alfred perform allogenic transplantation (see slide 5, slide 7 for bmt data).
in australia pay rates are uniform across each state within public hospitals, and similar (but individually negotiated by hospital) in the private sector. someone with ten years of experience earns a basic rate (before penalties) of $1,240.40 per week; if you worked as a clinical nurse specialist that goes up to $1,276.80. penalty rates include a 1.5% weekend loading, an additional $23.40 for pms, $54.50 for night duty (or $62.80 for permanent nights), and an additional weekly loading for relevant post-grad qualifications ($40.40-$75.70).
hope that helps. congratulations on your decision to move to oz - now you only need to decide which is the better state!
ps it's victoria

In Sydney I believe that St. Vincents is the big centre for BMT and other health services (outside South Eastern Sydney & Illawarra) typically refer patients for BMT there. However both children's hospitals in Sydney (Sydney Children's & Westmead Children's) have haematology units and BMT services.
Most tertiary centres have haematology units however. I'd suggest investigating Prince of Wales, Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore.
