Hi there! I just completed AP I and plan to submit my checklist soon in the hopes of taking HESI 2 this December. I currently have a 3.83 GPA for my PCI’s (I have A’s in everything but AP I for which I received a B+). I hope to do well on the HESI and be accepted to the Nursing program for the Spring of 2023 day program. I wanted to touch base with other people here who plan on doing the same so we can exchange tips and even work together if some of us get accepted to the same program. I look forward to speaking with everyone!

It is very rare to be moved, so do consider that when you apply. the only easy part to move is the morning section having afternoon and morning. Section choosing are lottery base but you can coordinate with your cohort to move only for the morning. the evening class sticks together till the very end.
Hello! Thanks for this info, I did see in the guidebook that you can put the request and it has to be approved, so the switch is not guaranteed. I won’t bank on it, but I will still put in the request as the morning classes interfere considerably with work. I am the head of household I would like to continue working full-time, but if it’s not doable I shall figure something out.

It is totally understandable, some of my colleagues had to make deals with their employer and never hurt on trying to move. but be sure to back your claims by having a letter from your employer so the better chances you get transfered.

Totally. I’m with several people who applied for the evening program and their scores are up there. A lot of 4.0s who scored 96+ on the HESI. Someone in the chat also said that the advisor mentioned that she’s holding 13 seats for previous nursing students who have to repeat the course. ?

whoa. 13 students repeating fundamentals is SO unheard of that is shocking. usually a few withdraw and some leave because its too much for them but dang 13

Yeah, I thought that was a lot. During the zoom we had about a month ago she said she was saving 2 seats and that the number may change because the students have until Dec 15th to make a decision. Then on the last day of the HESI, which was on Dec 10th, someone reported back that she said 13. There have been others in there who have been communicating with current students and stated that some current students have been complaining that they wanted to drop out because it’s too hard.

if fundamentals is hard, it gets harder the more you progress. Nursing school is like getting a 74 feels like an 84. LOL It really is quite unfortunate, we had 5 people drop in the beginning because the program wasnt for them, and I felt bad because there must be people who didn't make it are passionate and wanted to go in... this programs shakes and humbles you. our cohort started 27 in my section the original crew now is only 13.

Now I’m nervous ?? If that ONE B- prevents me from getting in I’m going to be so mad because I actually got 93% but they dropped it a letter grade and wouldn’t take my appeal. Ugh.
How many people are you with? Hopefully not more than 26 haha I’m going to be *dying* thinking about it now for the rest of the month!! The waiting is the worst…

Tell me about it. There are 64 of us in there and about 10ish of them have confirmed they applied to the evening, the rest are for the day.

Wow. There really should be a waitlist for cases like that.
How far along are you in the program?

Good luck with your Nursing program.
Thank you.

I just finished taking my final a couple of days ago.
My advice future nurses,
make friends in the program and study really hard some of the people in the program study from 9 AM to 10 PM. Once you are inside the competition gets thrown out of the window. Get to know your colleagues and connect, spend time with them, and do group study. The more you progress through the program, those who did not have support from their peers failed and repeated the course. Utilize the EAQ which you will learn about when you get inside the program. The program is now changing to reflect the New NCLEX.
The program is really hard, I have seen classmates cry in the middle of the test, tears shed and you really need support.
Goodluck! You will find out your inside the program once you get a zoom link that is making you not share it. I found out I was inside the program towards the end of the december. Heads up, there is a drug test. So get your affairs in order ?
