  1. Hey there, if I'm not mistaken, I believe you guys will be contacted over the Summer in June or July for the zoom orientation explaining how to move forward if you're accepted and then those in the day program have to attend an in person lottery for the afternoon/morning sections before the semester starts.
  2. Hello! I attend BMCC, and was wondering if anybody here had any suggestions or can provide some links to sites that offer good study guides for the exit HESI exam for Fundamentals. I tried googling, and have found a few quizlets and practice exams on studocu, but there are so many of them and they're all different. I just want to make sure I am studying from the right ones. One thing our Professor mentioned was that it was going to be heavy on the topics of sleep, culture, death and dying. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  3. I going to order two for now. A couple more down the line.
  4. Oh that sucks, they’re so ugly. ? I saw some former students selling their scrubs on Poshmark and Mercari, but theirs were from Cherokee and they look a lot nicer. ☹️
  5. Question for the current students, are Flynn O’Hara the only brand we can order scrubs from?
  6. I’m sorry to hear that! ;( This was a very competitive class. I got a 94.5 and received an email, while a classmate of mine who got a 94.375 did not. It really came down to the wire. If I’m not mistaken (and correct me if I’m wrong), but I believe there is a waitlist in case there are those who were accepted and they are unable to start the program. Don’t lose hope!
  7. I downloaded the 10th Edition of Fundamentals of Nursing by Potter on LibGen to get a head start. Though, I checked the BMCC Barnes and Nobles site for NUR 112 and it looks like they want us to get the 11th Edition when we start the Spring semester. She told us to read chapters 15-20 and chapter 28 to start. FYI: I also found this cool site called Osmosis.org by Elsevier, which are the people that offer the HESI. They have a specific nursing/NCLEX app that I have been studying for days now. It’s few bucks a month, but they offer great videos, questions and flash cards for nursing students.
  8. That I am not sure about. I just did everything on the same visit to avoid any issues. Perhaps one of the current students can help us out on how that works.
  9. Flu shot, tdap shot if you hadn’t had it in the last 10 years, TB screening; for this they did the quantiferon for me, and titters for MMR and Hep B. Plus, there’s some review of system questions and what meds you’re currently on. There is a form in the guidebook that I printed out and brought with me. Once I get the results, my PCP will complete it, sign and stamp it then email it to me.
  10. Awesome! That’s amazing to hear. I did my physical today for everything the guidebook was requesting to be ahead of the curve. One thing I was wondering about was the proof of HIPAA compliance. How do we prove that? I went on the HIPAA site and there isn’t a certification or course they offer for that.
  11. I have a silly question about how the online synchronous lectures/in person labs work. For example, for the afternoon section the lecture is from 1 to 2:40, but the lab starts at 3 PM. Does that mean we have to be on the school grounds for the synchronous lecture class to make it on time for the lab? I was hoping to stay home. LOL. Thanks for the recommendation! The Gales don’t look bad at all.
  12. You’re the best, Tiramisu! One more question. It’s about the footwear, I saw on the guidebook that they want us to get white shoes, but they can’t be sneakers. Which would you recommend?
  13. Thanks for this info! I was wondering about the dosage calculation test. I read that we get one within the first 3 weeks of the semester. Do we get a refresher or is it something we have to study on our own? I would actually prefer the afternoon class, how does the lottery work? Is it two separate lotteries for each section? Lastly, are we to wear the scrubs just for clinicals or are we expected to wear them to lecture/lab classes as well? Thanks again for your help.
  14. Hey there! I believe it has something to do with the credits. The B+ I received was in a 4 credit course, while the A’s were in 3 credit courses and the other A was in a 4 credit course. When I use the GPA calculator I get a 3.84. 3.835 was the total calculation on my transcript, so it’s close.
