BMCC Fall 2020

Published

Hi anyone applying for BMCC for fall 2020 ?
Just finishing the last of my pre-recs and going to do Bio 426 in Spring and Kaplan in Spring 2020 too . Not sure if my PCI is good enough ?

Hey everyone, CONGRATS on the excellent GPA for all of you

I think the GPA concern is only important for the Fall 2020 application since those grades will determine a placement
I think a B or B+ are good enough to keep them. The HESI exam can boost the score!

So surprised that only 300 applicants! We were thinking around 1000 LOL

I agree with you. Fall 2020 is definitely an exception. My admissions counselor told me that if you have even one B+, it significantly decreases your chances of acceptance, but maybe that was a little over zealous! A friend of mine from Microbiology class is applying with a 4.0 and a few girls from another class have one too. Very competitive.

Thank you, JDMNYC, for being so thorough. This information is very helpful! Do keep us posted on your journey. I know I would love to hear about your experiences.

Best of wishes to you and everyone else here awaiting acceptance.

I have just realized that I have no clue what classes to take in the fall. I have only a slim chance to get into the program for the fall but I completed everything beside nursing courses. Any thoughts on that? I assume I am not alone with this problem. Can I just skip taking classes and apply for the Spring nursing program?

This is a very good question. Am wondering too.But I believe the adviser can help with that question.

To be honest...I would not mind skipping ?

I think the best thing would be take any classes you might want to supplement your requirements with, like nutrition, quantitative reasoning, or some kind of health education course. It will help with the clinical courses when you get there!

Thanks ? I am thinking a higher level psy, I kinda liked psy 100 and 2400

Good idea! Still waiting for news.... ?

Lizzyny - if you’ve done all the classes and don’t get a spot take the semester and study like heck for the the HESI ! I’m pretty sure it will be back next semester and the higher the score the better the chance in ! If I don’t get a spot ( and I’m losing hope just with my GPA reading all the posts) I’m enrolled in micro which I’d completely online this fall and I’m taking speech online for Summer session 1 .

Yes, HESI full force for sure ? I have to ask about maintaining student status without taking any classes. I am only planning to try for the Spring after this and transfer to Lehman for next fall and I don’t want to take classes that I am not about to use in the future . I am only missing one class of the requirements for Lehman’s program, a psy class, I was thinking of taking that if I need to take classes to maintaining my status
