Hi anyone applying for BMCC for fall 2020 ?
Just finishing the last of my pre-recs and going to do Bio 426 in Spring and Kaplan in Spring 2020 too . Not sure if my PCI is good enough ?

@Lizzyny Yes; I am applying to the evening program. Fingers crossed!

Hey hey ?

1. I believe the 300+ was for both sections, day and evening.

2. The letter was part of the checklist for evening-only applicants, so I believe it is to prove employment.

3. They seem to make it much more complicated for Evening program applicants so that you complete all requirements of the program, other than clinical nursing courses, prior to applying. I assume this is because the coursework is rigorous and it would be difficult for most to manage a full-time employment, a clinical course and Microbiology, for example, all at the same time.

The nursing advisor told me that usually a 4.0 is not enough to guarantee acceptance and that the HESI test would require a minimum of 75% to be considered. Now that the HESI is cancelled due to COVID-19, it is purely the PCI of the applicants being considered. If there are more than 81 applicants with a 4.0, I assume they will use the overall GPA as the next qualifier. The COVID-19 grading policy of taking credit rather than a grade also has no effect on any non-PCI courses, such as Microbiology.

Hope that helps!

Hi there:) I am applying for the evening but was not asked for a letter of recommendation, perhaps a letter of employment? I have 3 letters of recommendation but I did not submit any...

Anyone know when we will be hearing from admissions? Early June? End of June? Been checking my email, I know, I know it's just June 1st...

I got a call to register for Fall 2020. Apparently you need to take at least one class to maintain your student status otherwise you have to file for re-admission. For the nursing application you need a student status meaning that you need to take a class no matter what. Anyone knows anything about this?

This was a bit of a nightmare for me. I called the nursing dept 3 times and asked if I have to take a class. They said yes. I have a bachelors already and also took every single class for the nursing program so had no other classes to take and decided to take music or art. And this means I had to pay more money. So I applied to re-admit and then registered and then found out I did not have to actually take a class. I went to the nursing dept in person to verify that and they said I did not have to take a class to be able to apply but that I did have to re-admit. It's really confusing. So I dropped the class I had registered for and BMCC wanted to charge me for them. I had to file a complaint and they waived the fees. I guess you would have to just re-admit but please make sure you get this in writing from someone because I got different answers depending on who answered the phone. Bottom line is that I applied to re-admit and did not have to take classes in order to apply. I still don't understand how this works. Are you applying for Fall 2020? When is the deadline for this? I am just wondering when the admissions letters go out...

What a nightmare! This sounds like classic BMCC.

Referring back to an e-mail the nursing advisor sent out in April, it looks like we will be finding out in "late June". She keeps referring to scheduling a Zoom call in the near future - I don't know what the purpose of this would be? Maybe to review the admissions statistics before letting people know?

Has anyone heard more info from them?

I have similar problem, have another health degree with same requirements, I have to pick a whatever class. Lehman college requires one that I don’t have and I think for the nursing bachelor is a requirement too , Chem 122

thanks for sharing it, I will reach out to the nursing department. I think we still have time to register. It would be nice to know the result of Fall 2020 so at least we know what to do next

Late June? I didn’t hear about this or the zoom meeting. What is the zoom meeting for? I only need a yes or no

Let me know what they say! I am scheduled to complete the last non-nursing course that is part of the program (SPE) Summer session 2, beginning July. I haven't heard from them about registering for Fall - but I would be in the same situation as you.

Have you been getting the e-mails from the nursing advisor? She mentioned late June in one and sent 2 about scheduling a Zoom meeting - supposedly this week but haven't heard so maybe next?

I am so confused right now. Are you applying for Fall2020 right now? Is there a different deadline besides the May 1st for students who were still finishing pre-requisites? When do you have to be registered for 1 class? I applied for Fall2020 in March and I was told to just re-admit and that I did not need to register for a class, just re-admit. Which is not what they told me the first time. I am worried now as I am not registered for a class, but was able to apply to nursing after I re-admitted.

Wasn't the deadline for Fall2020 May 1st?

No, no emails at all since application

Yes, there was an emailing in which it was said end of June. I was hoping beginning of June...But now with all that's going on who knows, maybe even later.
