Anyone applying for Fall 2011? They now require the HESI A2 (I believe the Spring '11 hopefuls didn't need HESI). Does anyone know what the percentages will be for prereq GPA/ overall GPA/ HESI score in determining the rankings?
I'm pretty worried now because I was hoping to boost up my overall GPA from 3.7 to above 3.8 this semester. But finals just passed, and I calculated my grades; I think my GPA is dropping to a ~3.63 because I might receive a C in my Microbio class. I'm considering emailing my professor and requesting some kind of administrative withdrawal instead of getting the C. If somehow I'm allowed the withdrawal, my GPA will become ~3.84. My prereq GPA is ~3.86 (2As, 2A-s).
BMCC is notorious for rejecting 3.8s, let alone 3.7s and lower. Should I rely on acing the HESI or should I contact my professor and hope I get the withdrawal? Or is there a possibility that a 3.7 this sem could get accepted?
I got accepted too, Mr.** called me on monday at 7p.m.I was pleasantly surprised to hear his voice:) I picked up the package tday and registered for CPR and will start doing immunizations this week too. I checked the required textbooks we need,it's a lot of money:( Does anyone know if we need all the required textbooks or just certain? By way,I am in day program.
Congratulation Maryasha :). I do have the same question about the books too. I think I am going to have a headache:( . I hope we don't need to purchase all 10 books , this is too expensive . If you find more information , Please keep me posted .
Congrats! to everyone who was accepted into the program. After applying twice and getting rejected, I was finally accepted into the day program. Thank God for the HESI!!! My GPA was a 3.75, HESI 93.33%, CT 840. I received my call monday at 5:32pm. When i picked up my package today, Mr. ** was on the phone with someone and told them that they already contacted everyone who was accepted into the day program. I was being nosey and saw the list and ranking of everyone, (this was only for the day program). I was ranked #14 on the list. the top person on the list had a 4.0 GPA and a 96% on the HESI. SO everyone waiting for the evening program, I'm sure they will contact you in the next few days.
Re Stole: my GPA was 4.0,overall and prerequisites.
I have no idea which books to buy. I have a friend who took nursing 112 last semester and she used completely different book,9th edition.But we need 7th edition,I saw tday in manhattan bookstore the whole package for 230$ butI m not sure if we need the whole package or not. I guess I will wait till orientation,and ask the professor.If smone will find more info regarding textbooks,let me know.
@ Stole do not give up , maybe you can contact the nursing department and ask if you are in the list or not so you know the next step you can take .
@ Maryasa I really wanted to start bying the books now because we do have to read few chapters before the first day if you read in the instruction in the package. I guess you right , we wait till next week so we can find out which books to buy so we do not buy books that we don't have to buy.
@stole. please call mr. **. He was getting a few calls today from sudents inquiring about their status. He literally had the list in front of him and he was able to let you know if you r on the waiting list. there are a few people that have dropped or declined so they call whoever is on the waiting list.
@nowisthetime. the orientation is next week, Mr. ** told me to wait until then for all of the questions. As far as the package, that is mandatory and it think its $300-$400. Some books are not required and r only to help with the progress.
Ty for the hopes u and called the nd and told me they calling until tomorrow so i really dont know but im not stressing myself anymore i havent get sleep since last nite and csnt continue
