You really don't want to do that. There is still time to register for the Summer II semester offering for Micro through Rio Salado...it's fast & dirty...trust me, you will be glad you got it out of the way. Click on the link to see the open Micro courses for all MCCD schools...
Best of luck!
I agree with above poster. Don't do Micro during block 1. The class isn't horrible, but it is A LOT of work and memorization. It was the only class I took during the semester I took it and it consumed 90% of my time. Loved the class though.
Try and get it over with this summer, before block 1 starts.
I wish I could take microbiology right now but I am currently taking Bio 202 and English 102 summer sessions. I don't think I could handle microbiology right now. I heard that the first block on the nursing program was the easiest and I thought that maybe I could handle taking micro at the same time but I am not so sure anymore. I am good at memorizing and I have good grades in my science classes but I don't want to jeopardize my grades for the nursing program by taking micro at the same time. Maybe I should wait until the next summer just before I start block 3. What to do??

Kudos to you for taking 202 AND Eng at the same time. That is more than I could do...LOL! Yeah, I would just wait for next summer for micro. You could try to do it during block 1....although, if you are trying through RIO I really wouldn't. That would be a lot of work. I don't think you would ever be able to leave your house...
. Decisions, decisions.... but aren't you glad you are having to make those decisions? You could still be sitting around on the waiting list...!
Good luck in whatever you decide.
I think that depends how organized you are, how much time you have for studying and how well you retain information. I did micro and anatomy II during LPN school (blocks one and two). I found those first two blocks to be easy enough, but I was studying NON-STOP too.
Where there's a will there's a way, but it's hard work and you have to be very motivated and have the time for it.

I personally think you should just take Micro summer 2. I'm currently taking Eng 102 online with Micro in class, then taking Mat summer 2 and probably Chem 130. You can do it! Just buckle down and get it done. You will be so thankful. I also start the nursing program this Fall and thats the only reason I'm taking Chem 130 summer 2. I'm getting it all done, so all I have to focus on is nursing, and then next summer I'll take the pre-reqs for the RN-BSN at ASU. Just focus and remember it WILL be worth it in the end!
