Biology Spring 2010

Published

hey everyone,

i see threads for micro and a&p, so i figured why not make one for those of us who are taking general biology this semester. i'm really, really excited about taking it and i thought it would be cool for us to have a place to talk about it in case we get stuck.

hope to be hearing from people.

I am also taking biology along with two other sciences courses im nervous but im ready for the pressure because i know i can make it. I am on a quarter system

I did this exact same thing last semester. I had chem and bio, and I am glad that I did. I believe it helped a lot when it came to taking the Hesi.

RB2000 - Did you find it was difficult to keep up with the material and labs taking both classes at the same time?

Wow good luck to you! What other sciences are you taking?

No, it wasn't that bad overall. There were moments when it got a little out of control. I will say that a good deal of study time went into the semester. However, I managed to get all A's so it is definitely doable. I purposely planned my semester that way. I knew that I was going to be taking the Hesi right after the semester, so I wanted bio and chem to be fresh in my mind. My plan worked! : )

You will definitely have moments when you will ask yourself "why did I do this to myself?!" However, just remember that the semester does end eventually and that you can make it. : ) Once you are done you'll be glad that you did it. (maybe) : )

In case you are thinking the books are too expensive, go to WWW.chegg.com and rent it for the semester. It is a lot cheaper to rent your textbooks. If it is a book you want to keep, buy it second hand from amazon.com or ebay, etc. But as someone mentioned there is an access key in the front to online reources that you may not be priviledged to if you buy it second hand or rent it.

So I just finished my second day of bio today. Hows it going for everyone so far if you have started?

Specializes in None, but plan to be well trained in all.

Not yet for me...first day is Feb. 1....How is it so far? Are you getting good vibes from the professor?

My professor is amazing! She is really, really cool and makes it a great class setting to learn in. So far it is one of my favorite classes! I hope things go well with your professor when you start.

I hope so!:bowingpur I looked her up on ratemyprofessor.com website and he reviews state she is hard teacher. Im trying not to let that scare me lol

My first class and labs are on 1/20 and I'm so scared because this is also my first semester returning back to school after 9 years. :uhoh3:

I also have a question since i'm pretty much clueless, but my lab is from 4-7...so would I need to be there all that time. I've already adjusted my work schedule, so I won't be a problem but like I said..I'm pretty clueless. Thanks guys and hopefully we all kick some butts:lol2:

Good Luck

I would think so! I believe if you only have lab once a week, it is three hours long..My lab is on thurs 7:25-9:25

ratemyprofessor.com is amazing! It has saved me!

I don't have a bio lab with my lecture so I only go three days a week for 55 mintues but I would assume you would stay the enitre time :)
