hi! anyone taking biology this fall? i am hoping to find some study buddies. its been a few years since i had biology! lol. classes start augist 25th!:wink2:
How is going guys ?
Since Friday I am studying for Wednesday exam (it is first - we are going to have 3 more). Our professor is so confusing!!! I thought that is only me. I have felt so lost with all this stuff. But it looks most of my classmates don't know what to think and expect.
Anyway, for now I have B- in this class (in chemistry A+ yey! ). I hope I will do good on test. I don't want finish this class with a C!
The best is... he is going to collect our lab notes with the intention of grading them. I am wondering...Am I in an elementary school? I have thought that lab raports are always important not my personal notes
I too am finding this course to be challenging. I'm so glad I listened to my counselor and took chem over the summer. I'd be having an even more difficult time without it. Right now we are working on the cell and have our second test on weds. We had one last week, and we have quizzes ever single class day on the lab we did the previous day. We have 7 tests total if I'm remembering correctly, plus the final. Quizzes every class period (twice a week). Plus she checks our lab book a couple times over the quarter, and we have a group project at some point. Oh yes, and two practical lab exams of course. Luckily, she does give "bonus points" over the course of the quarter and hopefully these will make up for some of my lower scores.
For our practical exam we will be looking at slides and having to identify them. Problem is, for our lab the slides we made were often not clear, and I expect the ones prepared for the practical to be good ones. This being said, does anyone know a good site that has various images of slides for biology?
Yay, I'm so excited these days! I've gotten a 49 out of 50 (99%) on all the tests so far! I have a great teacher too. I have a test next Monday so wish me luck please, and good luck everyone!
good luck maria, and congrats on your great grades!:yeah:i too am doing very well allA's so far even got a high A on midterm! ( only 2 people in the class got A's) so i am really happy, i too have a test tomorrow, so i wish us both luck!
Yeah, I am taking bio this semester also (I cant wait till its over).
Now, I am an A/B student, mostly As, 3.8 GPA.... and I am struggling for a B in this class. I have a C+++ in this class. Like 79.7...
I don't know what it is about biology, my whole life (like since 7th grade when you start doing science/biology in school) I have NEVER been able to get an A in bio except i think one semester in high school. This sucks, I have no idea how to study for biology to make it sink into my brain.
I am SOOO glad that bio is not a prerequisite to any of the nursing programs I plan on applying to, its only a prereq to anatomy, physio and micro.
Any tips for helping biology sink in?
I have a solid A in chemistry so i'm glad about that. its helping a little for bio but not a whole lot.
Hey everyone!
I'm so so happy I'm doing great in Bio. class. I got so lucky with my Bio. teacher (I'm going to take Micro next quarter w/ him) and I've been working really hard so I'm going to get an A in this class! Now I just have to hope I can keep this up with Micro and both A&Ps.
Our teacher says pre-nursing students are some of the hardest working students he's ever had.
Its true and we can do it! Best wishes to everyone here!

I started week 3 of Intro. Bio. today and I think the course is VERY challenging. I'm really enjoying it but feel that I really need to make an effort to try and stay on top of it because I think it would be very easy to get behind. Good luck to everyone!
