Binghamton BAT 2020-2021

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone! Just got the email that my application and transcripts have all been received for the class beginning May 2020. Now I just have to wait for my admissions decision (the worst part!!). Anybody else applying, or have applied, to Binghamton for May? Good luck to you all! ?

Did you have all of your prerequisites completed before applying?

No, I thought I just needed Chem II (currently taking) but my acceptance says I still need Composition II and Microbiology. So I'll need to take them as well

@mmmc32 how do you know you didn't get into stonybrook? On the forum it seems everyone is still waiting to hear their decisions.

Didn't see this before... I never got an interview so at this point I'm just assuming

@mmmc32

Thank you and congratulations on your acceptance.

Thank you! Best of luck!

Does anyone know how many students they accept/how many apply?

I'm pretty sure they accept like 85 to 90 students. They must get a ton of applications. Hope this helps.

Hi! I submitted my application for the traditional nursing program a week and a half ago but today I received an email from the admissions office asking if I would like to be switched into the BAT program. I received my bachelors in cell and molecular biology from Bing, but decided not to apply for the BAT program because I have a C+ in chem II and B in microbio (rest are A's). I figured I would be playing it safe applying for the traditional program since seats are limited for BAT. Wasn't the deadline for BAT in mid-November? I figured seats would be completely filled up by now so unsure as to why they emailed me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m wondering if it’s because they didn’t get enough applicants ?

If they were asking you, I would think it's because they think you're a good candidate! It sounds like you are. I would call them tomorrow and ask 1) Whether you're still eligible since it's past the deadline, and 2) What happens if you don't get into the BAT. Will you still be eligible for the Traditional?

Only 2 rounds of acceptances have gone out so far I believe, so there should still be seats. A few days before I was accepted they reached out to me asking about my Course Progress, so I think if they're contacting you it's a good sign...

I think they e-mailed you because they think you'd be a good fit for the program!! I have very similar stats... I have a bachelors in both biology and chemistry with a focus in biochemistry and I got a C+ in Gen Bio II with As in almost everything else and I was accepted, so I think you're good!! I would def call them to confirm that youd still be eligible for this coming year that it is past the deadline but I def think then reaching out is a good sign haha

Thank you so much for your response! I'll make sure to contact them tomorrow, just wasn't sure what to make of it. Congrats on your acceptance by the way! ?
