t's not your fault, ladies (and certainly not your partner's), that you don't orgasm every time you have intercourse, or that you lack the libido of a 17-year-old boy. You have a disease: female sexual dysfunction (FSD), and the pharmaceutical industry wants to help. You are among the "43 percent of American women [who] experience some degree of impaired sexual function," according to a Journal of the American Medical Association article. The FDA's evolving definition of FSD includes decreased desire or arousal, sexual pain and orgasm difficulties -- but only if the woman feels "personal distress" about it.
So, convincing women to feel distress is a key component of the drug company strategy to market a multi-billion-dollar pill that will cure billions of women of what may not ail them.
By promoting the belief that "normal" women have explosive sex all the time, BigPharma helped launch the disease
Creating a market for their drugs for a phony disease......:
re: big pharma's newest fake disease
or the horrifying disease hypotrichosis (not enough eyelashes).
ask if you should be treated with latisse.
have you seen the unretouched pictures of before and after with that stuff?
the red all-most, "sores" on the eyelids at the eye lash base area?
i guess if you want to wear heavy duty professional makeup "like a drag queen does!"
to cover those sores up like they do on every television or print ad ever photographed
it be ok, but in real life???
yuck! yuck! yuck! and the discoloration or permanent brown pigmentation on the iris?
that sounds so hot to me! i all ways wanted to say to a girl, you have poo in your eye!
moreover, of course the eyelash change will only stay this way as long as you
buy the drug! funny that all ways seems to be the case.
what a deal!! i want 20 boxes! thanks brook sheilds!!!!!!
I know this is not the point of this conversation; but good ole RLS made my life a living hell for several years. It is also very annoying when health professionals who may not know much about the problem question, nullify, or make fun of the poor saps who have conditions such as this-and thank God that someone noticed that sinemet could help me. I know that generally the drug companies are raping us, but the eyelash thing and RLS are really apples and oranges. Please don't hate the player, hate the game.
They didn't invent the disease. There are currently 9 separate DSM-IV codes for various forms of female sexual dysfunction. Obviously not Big Pharma nor anyone else is denying that women suffer from these things. It's not like nobody ever cared about this problem until Big Pharma had this brilliant ah-ha moment. Slamming someone who accurately points out the tactics of Big Pharma is kinda self-righteous.
They may not "invent" diseases, but they commonly rename them with something catchier and ad-friendly. I think that's how "impotence" turned into "ED". There's a new one now I find really amusing. You may not have "PMS" you may have the much more horrible-er "PMDD". I think the difference must be "normal'b-----" is PMS and "super-sized b-----". Oh, and I am very compassionate to those of you who suffer from PMDD. :)
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological condition. This has been proven.
It is very real and very painful. I have a severe condition that requires the use of opiates to stop the burning, throbbing and pain that use to keep me awake for hours every night. The loss of sleep and the daytime fatigue almost cost me my job.
I am thankful for Professionals that are open-minded and educated and can recognize this serious disorder, even thought the name sounds very made-up and silly.

Restless leg syndrome is legit. Or why would the GOVERNMENT entity called THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE for HEALTH be using your's and my taxpayer $$$ to research it?
