You can look up BAH via Google, and it's based off of your assignment zip code, not where you choose to live. I would have a difficult time choosing between the two locations! What a great position to be in. :) Good luck!

Hi Dmendoza,

Just out of curiosity, what was your 3rd choice to be stationed at?

i actually listed my top 3 to be Italy, Spain, and Japan. lol i was thinking go big or go home. i was told that because i had more than 2 years ICU experience there may be a chance to go overseas..regardless, im super happy and blessed im at this stage of the process..

hows everything for u going?

Everything is alright. I was told that I was selected but as an alternate and I wouldn't know if I'd be going to ODS this year without a budget yet. I was told if I don't go this year I'd be rolled automatically into next fy. So as of right now I'm just patiently waiting to hear anything at this point.

Same here abautista88- Have you heard anything more regarding the budget etc? I emailed my recruiter Monday but no reply/response as of yet.

No I haven't heard anything yet pedsrn14.

I was also told I was an alternate but I was told that if I don't get picked up this FY I still have to reapply for next FY. My recruiter said it isn't an automatic guarantee for next year. Still no word on an approved accession plan. I hope we hear something soon!!

I worked in Bethesda. I also went to college and lived in Alexandria and Arlington. The worst part about Bethesda is getting to work. On one hand it is easier because of the metro. The killer is the TIME it takes. You really will need to recon how long it takes to get to work every day. And with the military you will get called in on days off for training, extra shifts, etc. Just be ready. That said living in DC metro is a blast and there is a ton to do.
