Beth Israel Nursing School NYC

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????

Specializes in ICU.

bp224 and Meytal - CONGRATS to you both and good luck!!

Just came back from the interview :yeah:, I think it went well. The interview lasted an hour, I was interviewed by the Assist.Dean who is extremely nice. I felt so comortable with her, it was like we had met before this.....anywho, she said the committee will meet again on Monday and I could call or email her on Teusday to check my status.

Honeycutts, I was thinking about you the whole time so I ask about remaining seats, she said there are still 35 seats remaining and that they try to interview 3-5 people per day, so remain hopeful.

Woot thats great Triple A's!

I'm congratulating you in advance ~! You'll get in for sure :)

Hello Ladies!

Congrats to all who have their interviews scheduled! Triple A, you have given me great news! last time I spoke with our angel, she said there were about 30 of us in the same boat waiting for an interview... so does that mean we all have a chance at this new semester?!! I surely hope so... Metyal, congrats on the blessing of a new baby and I agree 100% with the other ladies, support support support is what you should mention and your determination to acheive you desires.

You're so sweet Triple A's. I really appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I can't say enough how happy I am for you. There are times when I think it's over for me, but then I'm struck with a bolt of faith and optimism.

Hello ladies,

I am really starting to feel down with this whole apps process and waiting for a call. Our angel emailed me today just letting me know that my application is still with the comittee and that they will make their decision in 2 weeks. I wish you all the best in your future as nurses, I honestly don't think I have a shot to get in, so I will try to put all my focus on my plan B. It was a pleasure to have met all of you lovely ladies on this board, who have given me much strength and hope. God Bless!

Villa0912,

What's your plan B? I just created my plan B. I want to encourage you to keep the faith. No news is good news until you receive bad news :) .

Villa 0912, I agree with Honeycutts. Lots of us felt like we would never get a call, and time passed so slowly, and finally most people did. Also like HC said, you do not have a NO, so try and keep positive about plan A while you work on a back-up plan B!

As for Honeycutts, all I can say is your attitude, so pleasant and encouraging has been lovely, especially as you have been waiting all this time too!

Oh and Meytal, I was thinking, I am not sure how it works over here, but perhaps you can ask nicely that she does not write that you are pregnant in your folder? I know it is important, but really the admissions committee should decide based on your academic records and essay whether or not you get in, and then think about your personal circumstances after, if you are admitted?

Of course I agree with other posters that you should explain your support network to whomever interviews you, but just keep it out of the actual file so you are given a fair hearing!?

Good luck to everyone

Lily

My plan be would be to apply to a doctorate program in public health. I have a masters in public health already and that has been my area for the past 5 years. So, since I am in here already why not just move up.. What is your plan B??

thank u Lily and you are right, I have to keep positive, I guess I am just having one of those days.. It really is hard to wait patiently.. I think what really gets me more anxious is because I have already made mental plans as to what "I" wanted my summer to look like more or less.. ex: spend time with my little ones, since my hubby is going to start a new job up in CT and he will be communting back and forth.. so technically I wanted to know what my status would be so I can give my boss the advance notice and say good-bye to my job and be entirely focused on my daughters for the summer and school. But again my ways are not His ways nor my thoughts His thoughts.. and I just have to just keep sitting tight.. ok Ladies thanks for hearing me out and letting me vent.. speak to you all soon!

~villa =)

My plan B is to apply to LIU nursing program. I'm not going to wait another year to apply for Nursing school and only have an Associates in Nursing in 3 years. I can have a BSN in the same time and go directly for my Masters in Midwifery.

Have you considered downstate?

Villa0912, I completely understand where you are coming from, as patience is not a virtue I posess. But I will say this, when you feel like things are not going your way, and all hope and optimism is gone....it is then, that God is working diligently for your cause. The key is not just patience, but faithfullness.

I pray that you receive a call soon....but most of all, I pray that you allow yourself to enjoy this experience, stressful as it maybe, because in the fall we will all look back at this thread and actually laugh.

Stay positive and no that we are all praying for you.....
