Best way to use Hurst??

Nursing Students NCLEX

I am using Hurst now after failing with Kaplan. So far I LOVE it!!! Not only is it more content based which is what I need, but the videos keep you interested as opposed to Kaplan's monotone videos. I am following along with the videos in filling out the worksheets now, I am only about 4 lessons into the program. I want to know what is the best way to use this program to my advantage? Should I watch the videos, fill out the worksheets and just review them, then do questions? I feel like I won't be very successful because I have heard that the Hurst questions are nothing like NCLEX. Any suggestions for using Hurst would be great!! I am signed up for NCLEX on Sept. 28 and would love to pass on my third attempt! :)

My friend took them and passed on the 1st try. She did as you are doing but I think a week before her exam she practiced some Kaplan questions. I have the access to the hurst videos but not the worksheet, is there a way I can download them w/o paying for it?? my exam is 10 days away and I am soo not feeling confident.

I'm using Hurst as well, and since I've been away from school for so long, here's what I do:

Watch each section and follow with the book (to fill in blanks). However, mine is filled in because I've attended Live Hurst. Though I found myself going over a section once or twice, since there were discussions in the video that were more in depth than the Live Hurst. Marlene is an exceptional facilitator, too bad she doesn't conduct live sessions any longer.

As I go through each section, I would refer to other resources such as Hurst Reviews: Pathophysiology Review, Exam Cram, Saunders....to enhance my overall learning. Again, this is because I've been away from school for so long. After each section, I would answer questions based on that section using NCLEX RN Q&A Flash Cards, Saunders, PDA and NCLEX 10,000.

Ultimately, utilization of Hurst or any resources is dependent on individual strenghts, weaknesses and type of learner. In my case, I'm very visual and hands on and I know my weakness is definitely CONTENT. Can't very well choose or eliminate incorrect choices if I'm not even sure what's the norm.

I have created flash cards for terms, conditions, illness, meds, etc I encounter when answering questions. I find that writing it down helps me with comprehension and recall.

Hope this helps and good luck to you! We will persevere with prayers and lots of studying :-)

Anyone have the website to watch hurst videos? I accidentally deleted the website that was given to me. :(
